I’m fond of lots of stuff such as gardening (Venusaur, Victreebel, Exeggutor), dogs, cats, bats, walruses (Walrein), vultures, amphibians and bugs in general. My favourite bugs would be spiders (Ariados, Galvantula), centipedes (Centiskorch), stag beetles (Pinsir) and praying mantises (Scyther, Scizor, Lurantis).
I enjoy wandering in my garden and inspecting the little bugs. Not a surprise I enjoy the aspect Pokémon.
It’s funny, because I’m not a fan of cats (more of a dog person), but Meowth is one of my favorites.
I really like Team Rocket Meowth’s story, especially how he managed to learn how to talk. His willpower and intelligence is unmatched. He cannot bend spoons like the mastermind himself Uri Geller, but I bet he is the only creature “speaking” both human and pokemon. I will also always believe Meowth is a good dude outside of his 9-5 work.
Any ocean creatures or aliens get my heart pumping.
I love Pokemon because its like a super-fun-funny-intense-cute-parallel universe to the world.
I think maybe it has? But I think looking back it didn’t have anything to do with it. Dogs are indeed my favourite animal! For domestic dogs the Australian Shepherd is my favourite species, they’re really pretty and loyal. Lots of work though haha! My favourite wild dog is the African Wild Dog. They’re really cool!
I think just the mystery around Lucario and it being not very common in the games early on added to the “cool factor” for me.
My favorite animal is an elephant. I always liked Phanpy and Donphan, but they were never favorites.
When Cufant came around I reslly wanted to like it, but it seems to have been forgotten rather quickly and didn’t stay around long enough to make a good impression

Elephants can relate to mice. Perhaps you not only like elephants but also desire to scare one at some point. Seems pretty related to me.
I can’t imagine living such a sad life. Animals are the best.
I don’t think I have a favorite animal. There are just too many.
I like birds, so Rowlet and Noctowl come to mind immediately.
I like cats, but most cat Pokemon besides Sprigatito are meh.
I like dogs and wolves. Arcanine and Growlithe are near perfect Pokemon. Houndour and Houndoom are equally cool. Rockruff and Lycanroc are especially lovable in the anime.
I like foxes. Eeveelutions are some of my favorites, plus Fennekin, Ninetales, and Zorua.
I think pandas and red pandas are adorable, but the Pokemon that represent these animals are okay (Pancham, Pangoro; Bewear).
I feel like I could go on and on with these. Overall, I think TPC has done a really nice job of reimagining animals into Pokemon.
I hadn’t really thought about it until this post, but I’ve always loved birds so I’ve found myself leaning more towards those cards.
