Rayquaza completes the super-ancient Pokémon trio as protector of the skies, having dominion over the atmosphere.
What more can be said of Rayquaza? A beautiful emerald dragon with unimaginable power. A protector serpent with the ability of flight. In a “Pokémon of the Year” poll held by The Pokémon Company in 2020, Rayquaza was voted the most popular Generation III Pokémon, receiving 60,939 votes. It was also the eighth-most popular Pokémon overall. I love Rayquaza. From the sound of his name to his design, Ray is one of my favorite Pokémon. Reminds me of Shenron from Dragon Ball.
Deoxys is the DNA Pokémon. It is known to take on many forms. Interestingly, in its normal state, Deoxys’ arms form a double helix. A nod to the Pokémon’s DNA inspiration. I really enjoyed Pokémon’s take on a being seemingly alien in origin with mutation-like abilities.
