PSA VS BGS & Compare/Analyse Results

Also be wary of sending this card/others through middlemen. Whoever you use, honest or not, accidents can happen and opportunity can make criminals out of normal every day folk. Not saying it will, but you put $10k cash in 100 random peoples hands who otherwise wouldn’t steal $10k and you would be surprised how many of them dash with it. Especially when overseas and the “dashing” isn’t even necessary. I guess this will be my last word of warning. Horse was dead several posts ago, I know it is just hard to imagine watching this all unfold just for thousands of dollans to be lost and little if anything gained.

It is big risk with the lost in the mail thing, you think with high insurance people will leave it alone because i am claiming it as 10,000 i think from bgs back to residence in us.
I think garinson actually took all his Base set stuff to get crossed over himself at some big bgs convention thing or some crap, I could wait till he go to one of these and he take my zard himself, but i dont tink i can wait lol… I wanna get dis shite over and done with i say.

Just to be clear, my earlier statement would apply to just the Charizard getting a pristine grade. Getting the whole set in a pristine 10, especially Japanese base Chansey/Clefairy/Magneton/Hitmonchan, will not happen.
It would be fun to try to crossover PSA 10s though and require a minimum grade of 10.

This is the most impossible goal I’ve ever heard of. Sounds like you’re going to saturate the small BGS market with a bunch of 9’s and 9.5’s.

Isn’t that what you unsuccessfully did with a bunch of shadowless 1st edition cards that were PSA 10 after you bought your BGS 10 zard? Meaning crossing over PSA 10’s with BGS 10 minimum specified?

Yeah given the results you saw and everything, a complete BGS 10 set of anything especially older stuff seems to be fantasy at this point.

Yes but if we can find these cards gem pack fresh, and have them centered, a Gold label will be possible because of the quality of these japanese cards. I just hope i can do this, and find some.

hitmonchan seems to be popping up here and there, I heard someone say recently he is really hard on 1st ed shadowless, I guess same will go for it with no rarity. There was a Chansey that I did have, but ed has it now. It was centered and pretty nice… it was crazy looking at how it survived all deese years… dem whiteness. I didnt know magneton was a problem, i figured clefairy would be, and clefairy isnt really showing up at all, but i have seen a fair share of chansey that are usually damaged to hell and off centered like 99% of no raritans.

I have found that all early Japanese sets are really badly centred not just no raritans, I think that it will be the killer of the dream of prestine.

Yeah, I am going to do it though, even if it takes me 20 9.5’s on one card, I will scoure the tingz. To sell a Gold label would be evil, but if a black label replaces it… what to do. I say keep both, but if money is needed for a card on auction then i suppose it must be sold, if i have pristine black of course.

I think pristine black is were dreams taking wing to far though, i reckon it will only happen on very few of the cards.

Yes flood the market with 9.5, 9’s and keep some 9.5’s and 10’s. muhahahaha prepare peeps. :ninja:

Right. I sent my 20 absolute best psa 10 1st base holos, ones I cherry picked over 17 years, and not a single one crossed over to a pristine grade. Now those were English and the Jpn are tons easier.

I plan on opening 1st ed shadowless and shadowless booster boxes untill i have 16 holo set of pristine at bgs xD … I reckon you would have a better chance submitting straight to bgs then a crossover, since they do say that they consider a psa 10 there 9.5, they might look at it a bit differently, and also you said it is not always the best for them to review a card through the actual case, since you cant see things properly ect.

If you open 1st and shadowless boxes chance are you wont get any 9.5s or maybe you’ll get one with a 9 subgrade. If you got a 9.5 with no nine subgrade it would be a miracle…100-1.

yeese well hopefully i get luckyington… But also ill probably open like 1 or 2 boxes, and hopefully there high quality, and i might stop there and pick up sets or something… Like @pokemonmaster556 just picked up a mint set, and it is really solid and clean. There was a set that was minty fresh, with an extra minty fresh charizard back last year when i got my 1st ed shadowless charizard psa 10, and it went for 2600usd… How i wish i grabbed that instead of the 10, because now everything has doubled again.
As for shadowless boxes, i think it is pretty worth it to buy like 5-10 boxes since there still like 1500-1800usd… It would be really fun. I gonna have to save a shit ton though.
You can get really high quality boxes, I just hope this is the case, and best thing to do would be, if its not high quality to just open one holo out of the box and if its insainly off centered, then the rest of your holos will have 90% chance to be the same centering, so maybe sell the packs singaly, and get another box untill yoll get a good quality one and first 1-2 holos are perfect. This would also be really good for people gettting the packs up on ebay, because you know pokesynd be giving you like 33 packs with 11 holos beried in dem… hmms or do you think this would be bad for the market, i dont see it that way, but i could be wrong and if so i wouldnt put the 33packs with 11 holos back on market, or maybe just put them back on there a little cheaper, and save up and bit more to try again @KingPokemon Though on my 1st box, i dont think ill be able to resist opening the rest of the box. Crackrok got his for 7kusd i think, but now theyd probably be like 9-12k :open_mouth:

Dude just focus on your goals in Japanese, you don’t need to go for 1st or shadowless for that matter because you already have 2-4 collection goals from that I can see: psa 10 no raritans, gold stars, bw ur and old school ex cards. The last thing you need to do is be looking to lose potential hundreds or thousands of dollars by cracking open booster boxes which are insanely priced. Also please listen to @garyis2000 when he says to you that cracking those boxes isn’t going to be worth it. Gary out of everyone here has likely opened more base set boxes than anybody you will find and so his opinion on this is more than valid, it’s like gospel truth. We are only trying to look out for you and your wallet bro. Just be satisfied with what you already want rather than having this elongated ever changing fantasy as to what cards are going to satisfy you. I personally think you would get a kick out of hunting trophies because you wouldn’t sell them right away but that’s just me. We are here to help like I said but you gotta learn to have a bit more control over your goals matey. Maybe write them down and don’t write another until one is complete or something along those lines.

If you have a lead on 5-10 $1500-$1800 shadowless boxes send them my way. I would buy a whole case, today of confirmed shadowless boxes at those prices. @pokemonsyndicate. I think you are off on that pricing, but you are on with the 1st edition shadowless at 9-12k. Dave and Adams just sold one at $10.5k and collectors cache last one was $10k.

WHERNT YOU MENT TO BUY ONE… where is your box sir. =D

Yeese Of course, well it would be very far in future, and it would be really cool to get even 1 pristine engrish holo because it would be worth it. Though the chance would be like 0 out of 1,000 hmmms. send all 12 holos in AND GET NO PRISTINES!!!

I should have called you up 10 years ago@garyis2000 when i was at skewool, and I was working 30-38 hours a week at shithole corporation hungry jacks, a registered trade mark of burger king, because i still had like 350 bucks a week, and every 2 weeks i could have bought a 1st ed shadowless box :unamused: but nooooooooooooooo instead i spent it on crap.

Here is an 8.5 from bgs @ozenigma CLearly the front is an 8. The back is nothing like the one smpratte showed, and the one he showed had a lower subgrade on edges if I recal hence the bad whitening… This can mean a big jump in your grade/ overall look just from a few subgrades being high, but the card being the same grade. The front suffers on this one instead of the edges, and it is clearly terrible… Id never send in a card in this condition, so 8.5 is something that doesnt really mean anything, but it is a good showcase of how the subgrades work, so you can better understand what i mean… I have some gems, that shouldnt be mint 9’s but they will be because of centering… Id rather have 10 10 10 wiht 9 centering on my card, so I know my card is gem mint flawless apart from centering.
@ozenigma

Here we have the same situations… one of the better mint 9’s with a only 1 higher subgradings level and rest equal:

Im confident this would get a mint 9 at psa or close to, since it has an extra subgrades, and the 9’s go average all across.

Now this is for the finisher… This is a dam High end mint 9, and could probably get a psa 10, if PSA misses on the centering… Yet bgs have it as a mint 9, and it has flawless subgrades… Beautiful card… Yet a mint 9… WHich is exactly id be after on some of my cards, but 9.5 version.

I can Provide countless examples of how awesome this grading system is at bgs, and how accurate it is with 95% of there work through there subgrades. Peeps will one day understand the awesomeness of bgs… I HOPE!

can ize hav your bgs pristine zard @garyis2000 (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

@missingno is right, they said They consider. They said if my charizard makes the 9.5 but they deem it a 10, they will of course give it a pristine label. ozenigma … They never said anything about my charizard not being better then a 9.5, and that they are better.
This is a perfect example of yet again there subgrades… As you mentioned oz, you have alot of flawless cards, and im confident 90% of them would hit the BGS gold/Black label. even though there psa 10’s, there kind of just overkill 10’s… Which is prime example of how when i owned 3 different 1st ed charizard gold stars, 2 had very noticable flaws, but someone recently got one in psa 10, and it is the only flawless copy i have seen to date, and much better then the 2 i owned, and even better then the almost perfect one i graded myself. I’d really like to battle it out till i get the best copy of that card, and bgs is only way of prooving that with there subgrades ect.

Good luck
