Left this thread unopened the last 2 days until this evening hoping for some easy bed time reading… 40 minutes later and I feel like I’ve had a coffee…thanks
Mmmkay so i just wanted to note that I must read my stuff before I post it, because it doesnt sound the right way, but also alot of it was for shits and giggles, but some of it may have sounded wrong.
This is stupid when i look back and see my crappy irrational behaviour in some comments.
Saying this - that PSA is only supported by heaps of peeps, is and can come off as condecending because this is only my opinion from my personal experiences, it is like saying all psa graders are dumb because your opinion is different… So I didnt think this one through… Maybe I should end my sentences with Imo more often and think and read thngs a few more times before posting, becuase this is behaviour i had in the past, because I dont feel right at times, and emotions get in the way ect.
Four reasons…
Honestly it isn’t you alls time but my own lol.
Sharing some secrets which affect the large players isn’t always a good idea as far as the overall health of our hobby.
In some cases you don’t want to break confidences, promises or guarantees.
Lastly, the little advantage I still have is knowledge. I’ve shared tons of it which has helped many here on e4 and elsewhere but for the rest you’ll have to wait for the book;) It’s like the old saying: We’ve taught you everything you know, but not everything WE know.
Hey guys i just looking at BGS 9 1st edition shadowless charizard, and the difference from 8.5 - 9 in bsg is astounding depending on your sub grades, your condition of your card can change dramatically. The difference in a 9.5 to a 9 is very draticalized, if that is a word, and if you are only 1 subgrade point away from getting a PRISTINE gold label on your 9.5 GEM mint bgs graded card, then you have a very high chance ofg crossing over your 9.5 bgs to a psa 10. The difference between a 9.5 with high subgrades, and a bgs 10 can sometimes only be the centering or a dot of edge wear, so its a very fine line, causing so much trouble to get that Pristine 10 grade… I think this is awesome and intrigueing and something i noticed back when i looked at garys pristine 10 charizard, because it is like PSA will give you a 10 if your card is Centered but it has edge wear, but They wont give you a 10 if your card is GEM mint and no edge wear, but slightly off centered.
Where is BGS could go either way on the gold label, because they have that subgrade… If your card is Slightly OC, but absolutely perfect gem and no flaws they will give you the pristine 10 gold label, which is quite a difficult scenario, but at the same time if any peopole have amazing cards that are just perfect that PSA will duck to a 9 because centering, it would give peeps something to think about, because the least it could get a BGS is a 9.5 which is still going to be worth more then a PSA 9, and just the Overall grade name - GEM mint. This is what cullers was saying the other day, and it is also what i noticed about 4 months ago when we was all talking about garys pristine zard ect, and hisoka pointed out the subgrades on his english cards, and what he thought they may have gotten at bgs if he submitted of his cards there instead.
But yeah check this out the drastic change from smprattes 8.5 venusaur to this 9 with 2 higher subgrades:
Back of zard Probably get a 8.5 at PSA:
Venusaur:
venusaur Back, unbelievably drastic change bewtween 8.5 and a 9 with higher subgrades:
Okay so im just wondering guys, does anyone know if BGS does 10,000USD insurance on crossing over a psa card to BGS case. I want to send in my no raritan charizard for crossover minimum 9.5.
Also does anyone ever heard if its risky doing cross over from psa to bgs, and if they know what there doing and if there is chance of damaging card much.
I have to do this, and if I can get insurance im sure they wont stuff it up.
I would really love to leave it alone, and trust me I have gone over it so many times emergerd.
I would seriously advise not doing that. It’s your card and you can do what you want, but I think most of the forum would be behind me on this one. It isn’t worth it.
I would say pristine 10 minimum if you try to cross over at all IMO. I’m not too sure about 9.5. If you ever change your mind down the line because you like the number 10 more than 9.5 there is no guarantee PSA would cross it back from BGS to a 10 again, damage or not. That would be a lot of folks handling the no raritan and a lot of chances for issues to happen between shipments, crossover grade, middle man shipping prob. A lot of $$$ and a lot of chances for issues if you ask me. All for something that may not even cross over.
I agree. I would go for pristine 10 minimum as well. I do believe a pristine 10 > PSA 10, but I also believe PSA 10 > BGS 9.5, so there is no point crossing over to BGS 9.5
Yes there is for me though, because I want my card in a bgs case. I love the sleeve and I love the look of the case. This is from the man himself I’m talking to at bgs. I’m pretty sure I’m going to do this… Who knows if its worthy of a 10, then I may just get it. But do you know how hard that is!!!
It is never a guarantee that the card grades over from a PSA 10 to a BGS 10, because we consider a PSA 10 to be a BGS 9.5. It just depends on the card condition. If the damage occurs, it happens during the transit process with the shipping carrier. I would just fill out the form that I have attached to this email.
If you put a minimum grade of 9.5, then if the card is able to be a BGS 10, we will give it that. But we will not take it out of the case if the graders believe it is not a BGS 9.5 or BGS 10.
That was from the bgs dude… But also guys I’m working on acquiring a mint set ungraded off this dude. So hopefully I can get half 9.5- 10 set, and then hopefully replace those 9.5 s over many eons of moons till I have a complete pristine bgs set!
I didn’t have work today so I spent about 12 hours scouring through every single listing in Japan I could, and its getting dry out there guys and gaaalz. The blastoise from the set is absolutely perfectly centered, there is not one dot of whitening, and it is looking like a pristine 10 to me. The alakazam, guar asks, and a few others are gem, and the rest are mint. So I can’t wait to get my hands on this ungraded set.
