PSA trying to compete with BGS 10

Curious to see this mistake black label with obvious off centering. Certainly everybody makes mistakes but never saw it in this way.
Just copy the picture here.

Can’t right now as I’m on my phone, but if you search ebays completed listings for ‘bgs 10 espeon’ you will see it. My observations are also based on a trend over a few or more photos I’ve seen that might not be black labels but e.g. have a 10 for cornering with a scuff or something.

I don’t want it to look like I’m nitpicking here because to me there is nothing wrong with that border. The critique I have is just based on my perception that showing the sub-grade implies stricter margins.

Maybe it doesn’t imply that at all, that is just how I perceive it and in my opinion if they were to be more brutally accurate they would not only have more credibility but also be a more viable alternative to PSA.

This is a bit retarded because there is whitening all across one side on the back, but it might actually just be blunt cuting and not actual whitening… FINALLY I SEEN A BACK OF A PRISTINE 10 - www.ebay.com/itm/Pokemon-BGS-PRISTINE-10-1st-Edition-German-Base-Set-Charizard-Glurak-4-102/121785093235?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131003132420%26meid%3D9a5194f14f144dc9a03ee75245f2fc9f%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D121784645226

This, ladies and gents, is why we use PSA.

Well that just put this discussion to bed haha, psa all the way my friends.

That’s not actual wear. Some older cards specially some sets like ex TRR and ex Deoxys had that sort of edges where it frayes. It’s just how they were cut. At certain angles it looks like edge wear

I had some psa 10 exs and gold stars with that same fraying. So whoever said that outs it to bed your are simply looking for the first thing to reconfirm your opinion that PSA better without looking for more overall opinion.

This same exact conversation about card grading accuracy was solved in the coin grading collectibles by using another third party authenticator to verify the grade received was accurate with a gold stamp/label.

Both companies make mistakes and we’d all like to have much more accurate grades. BGS 10s are more valuable than psa 10.

“Frayed” edges deserve 9.5s??? You have got to be kidding?
That must be the light reflection or something?

Quite strange aye. Hisoka That’s what i was talking about the cutting thingy bluntness thing, It was on my PSA 10 1st ed Zard, but it wasnt whitening. In the end gary said my zard should be a 10- and I agrees.
