Many people have made great comments. For cards with low pop counts from a set tthat is not really a limited release but just becoming popular, my bet would be that the card price will actually dip. Look at shadowless market: after the spike in prices, the pop for most holo cards in psa 10 almost doubled. I remember when the blastoise was pop 16 about a year ago and now it is at 31. Obviously the price spikes from around 1200 in 2016 to about 4K or 5k at its height. Now it’s a bit lower. The alakazam was pop 12 for a while. Now it’s at around 22. This card was running at 2-3k, now it’s at below 2k. Just another comparison. Not to say GS is the same, but these are trends you could potentially encounter with the low pop of your card which could drive the market in similar fashion.
If you care about the money, sell the card for 5k and invest in some 1st ed or EX boxes. Those will be a surer bet on future value increase.
Price will go down for sure and th pop will go up. I laughed when i saw the pwcc psa 10 gold star rayquaza go for over 8k like idk who has confidence to buy at a ridiculous price like that it can only go down from there. Probably the next “titanic” card.
I so agree with you. I’m surprised it even peaked that high… When you have veterans like Gary advising people to be careful about this Gold Star craze, you better believe them.
I know someone interested in the card, ill pm you to put you 2 in contact.
There’s currently 3 on the markt including yours now.
BTW, last one that was publicly sold/traded went through me for approx 5000 USD trade value aswell.
I assume this is you? www.ebay.com/itm/2004-Pokemon-Ex-Team-Rocket-Returns-Torchic-Gold-Star-108-109-PSA-10-Gem-Mint/153075238037?hash=item23a3fec495:g:iTUAAOSwHt5bMTCE
I’ve never been a fan of such a high start price. Honestly I think the floor on this at auction would be ~$5k as of right now and I don’t think there is any real risk of under performing that. I honestly think $7k would be in the realm of possibility with a true auction as well but I just doubt anyone will place an initial bid that high. Gotta get some people in the game and make them see that it is selling for real with a 99 cent auction to bring out the over bids.
Best of luck either way and if this isn’t yours it will still be interesting to follow and see how this potential sale affects the market.
No i haven’t put mine up for auction yet. And I agree, your more likely to never hit the price you want if you start high. My ebay account is keeblerdot72. and I’ll make a post here where ever i decide to sell the torchic.
