Hes giving out a fair warning. Especially to people who are going to get these with their children. People are getting beat up and all out brawls are breaking out. I think its fair to say that you should be careful and keep an eye out. Doesnt hurt to say the truth. People are going crazy for this cardboard. Physical altercations are breaking out. It very well COULD happen. Ive already seen a couple agruements break out that could have easily turned into fist fights or worse if security wasnt there. Let alone the videos going around of wwe sessions going on at cosco. It would be bad advice to say “go ahead no need to worry, bring your children everything is ok”. When in fact its not. Good advice would be, be careful. Sad and unfortunate that I have to say this but its the truth. This is what the hobby has become. Its seen better days. I did not expect to witness grown ass men arguing over who was in line at a specific spot and threatning eachother but it is very real and it is happening. Its ok to issue a warning to just be caredul when you are with your children shopping for this.

People were getting threatened with guns during the covid times. Not a new thing.
This video is an older man in green trying to wrestle 1 of 2 blooming waters boxes away from a guy in black. Guy in green is wrapped around black from behind, guy in black throws an elbow into greens chin, nobody lets go, people try to intervene and calm the situation down, other people still walking around with many other boxes.
Someone claiming to be the man in green had posted on reddit saying they did file an online police report, was a little sore after, was getting packs for their kid, and will pay scalpers to not go through it again. Also that the man in black got their membership revoked.

Singapore Pokémon Center was right to say they’re not selling the set this weekend (no mention of when either)

No brawl on our side but we had folks line up 3 hours ahead of opening despite a one item per person policy advertised on the door.

I’ll open what I got with a friend tomorrow, get absoluted rekt by the pulls, and shrug, then move on. Nothing about this set is worth it to me. I made no attempt to sweatily fight for anything more than the preorder cards I had.
I’ll add that I did go by a game store to ask about when they play the tcg. Apparently they don’t get anyone coming in to play pokemon almost ever. They have a consistent play group for just about everything else though. Thats a whole other topic of concern to me. But I’ll say that I also caught the owner in the store. So I had his ear for a moment. I asked him what his normal allocation was vs this time. What He said was he got %15 of his usual for a specialty set. He also confirmed that magazine exchange was charging over MSRP, so anyone with distribution with them would have no choice but to charge way over MSRP, or simply not order with them, and thats with reduced allocation.
Not good.

Forgive me for bumping this. But how is everyone feeling about PE these days? Stock has been steadily growing, packs are not at 5$ and idk if they will ever be but they’re not the 25$ launch fiasco.
Do people still like this set? Or was it just a cash grab?

100% a cash grab. The eeveelutions and a few other SIRs are incredible but the pull rates are so brutal and 99% of the set is garbage. Evo skies at least has other things going for it. Prismatic just feels awful to open.

What does evolving have besides the alt arts? Idk the exact pull rates but I recall they sucked as well

Both sets were awful for me to open. Probably close to 100 packs total and nothing more than a full art or master ball.

I personally like the rainbow rares and full art Vs for eeveelutions, ray and gyarados.

Its my least favorite set to open since at least Champion’s Path. The pulls are underwhelming with so many reprint cards and also without any regular IR secret rares. The poke ball and master ball reverse holos don’t cut it for me either.
While it has many of the same flaws, I felt that Japan’s Terastal Festival ex was actually fun to open because of the guaranteed pulls in each booster box (and also I feel it had a better selection of reprint cards).

Prefacing with I never open packs but when TPCI didn’t change the SIR pull rate despite there being x4 or x5 a main set, it was always going to be shit.
