Just found a sealed pack of it looks like 10(?) League Promo Frozen City in a box at my parents’ house. This is obviously an obscure item and far from the coolest thing I’ve unearthed while home for Thanksgiving, but I literally can’t find any for sale or sold anywhere. Anybody have any idea what a fair asking price for this would be?
The single cards are readily for sale for 1-2 dollars. While it being sealed might add some value (I would think it would be cooler) it would not be much. These come in the clear packages right?
Are the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place cards also in this package? If so they are worth a little bit more.
Yeah, I know the individual Frozen Cities are virtually worthless; any hypothetical value would derive from them being sealed. I guess that value increase might be marginal, but I feel like I’ve seen sealed packs of some tournament promos go for waaaay more than the sum of the cards inside (although those are presumably much rarer than League promos).
Also worth noting that I’m not 100% sure the pack consists of only Frozen Cities. I can’t see the other cards inside — only that they’re all Plasma cards. I know Colress and Plasma Energy, at least, were also printed as League promos. Maybe somebody can shed some light on that.
You can try to wiggle the cards a bit in the package (assuming they come in the clear packs) to see the numbers on the bottom to check if they are all frozen cities.
There might be collectors out there for such things, so while I said the value gain might not be much I am absolutely not certain about it.
Update: I was able to wiggle them around and discover that the pack seems to consist of four Frozen City, four Plasma Energy, and four Colress. Still no idea on pricing, though. Might throw it up on eBay as like a $50 BIN OBO.
