Only one way to find out. Try selling it. How much do you want for it?
Tough to say for sure. My guess would be in the range of $2000-$3000. That’s a total guess though as I’m not aware of any recent sales data. Authenticating will certainly not harm the value. Personally I would grade/authenticate any unikarp regardless of condition.
I’m no expert but isn’t that the price of NM copies? His card is in very tough shape…
I was first going to say $500, but that might be way too low. I guess a collector on a budget might be willing to go $1000 for this card.
Yeah, I would probably pay $1k for this right now honestly… and I barely even have that money.
Fair enough. How much more would you pay though? You can find a 8 or 9 easy for about $3k or less. That’s like PSA 4-5.
I know it’s a scarce card, but I don’t see bringing much more than $1k. Maybe $1200-1500?
I was just taking a guess.,.
Only a sale would tell us for sure. I’m not in the market for this card but it sounds like $1k isn’t unreasonable to a couple people here.
There’s a local listing for a 9 for $3750 CAD.
There’s a PSA 6 that sold on heritage auctions a few months ago. If anyone has an account there to see the sold price, it would give us a good idea of OP’s card value.
Around $1.8k
Recently sold one here for about $3.4k rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F1998-Japanese-Pokemon-University-Magikarp-Prize-Trophy-Card-PSA-6%2F264210351883%3Fhash%3Ditem3d842a070b%3Ag%3AN-MAAOSwRIhccQWV&campid=5338481994&toolid=20008
I’d buy an authenticated copy for $3000.
Something I noticed looking at a sellers sold history(He currently has a PSA 7 Unikarp for sale). Looks like a PSA 5 sold for $5,000 via best offer.
Sale price is according to watchcount.com
A PSA 5 and a PSA 6 both sold on eBay for around $3500 each.
