I have a Mint Uncut Fossil sheet from the KB toys promotion. I also have the original cardboard box it came in. Prices are all over on ebay. Not sure what to make of them. The sheet is pristine and is currently framed.
I’m currently in the middle of a move and it’s a hassle keeping it around. It would be nice to sell it but I have no idea on a fair price for it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
A year ago I would have confidently said $300-$400 as they had a fairly well established price point. Condition varies a ton on these, but that was about what the nice ones were going for. Lately they have gone really high. All uncut sheets I have seen have been. $600 and $1k are the last two sales I saw on eBay which I am sure you saw. There was also a twice folded generations sheet that went for $300+ which surprised the hell out of me and I am not sure if it was a legit price. The $2400 fossil BIN I feel like couldn’t have been real, but I just don’t know.
@gottaketchumall I believe the generations sheet could have definitely sold for that price. I have never seen a nintendo era uncut sheet. and yeah, the $2400 seems fishy, but like you I just don’t know D:
@tony yeah I would put it at $850 to 1000 OBO if you want to sell it sooner. If you had more time I’d maybe put it at $1179 or $1250 and see what bites you get. I sold one to a dentists office not long ago for $650 and none have lasted long on ebay so $700 minimum for sure.
At it’s height KB Toys operated 1300 stores across all 50 states. These were given away at the stores. Wiki doesn’t say how many stores it operated in 2000, but I would assume that was roughly their peak. I have no idea if fossil sheets were left uncut and distributed for anything else besides the KB Toys giveaway, but I think that puts a bottom mark at around 1,000 produced with likely many long lost or destroyed since then.
Fossil sheet/neo gen common is buyers market.
I gotten my fossil for at most $100
also seen them sell to others for this price.
With the phenomenon of pokemon (1999) at the time there was thousands released to the public by KB toys.
When WOTC lost their license they had a shit fit and flooded the market with more uncut sheets to destroy the pokemon market.
So the “offical” number no longer exist since WOTC sent more out in droves to spite the pokemon company and nintendo.
Theres gotta be tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of these fossil sheets.
To quote Smpratte. Years ago he said “uncut sheets are a sellers nightmare”
Stop paying hundreds of dollars for these.
I been on my collection for nearly 13 years now.
Also if you look on ebay and use your eyes carefully you will see all these ebay auctions are rigged to make it look like “this is the market price”
Most of my collection i got never even made it to ebay, and the ones that did still never sold for these prices.
These sheets have been on ebay nearly everyday for almost a decade and a half.
Also theres no such thing as a MINT sheet.
All sheets have imperfections to them.
This is simply not true. Do you realize how much a hundred thousand sheets cost to print…?
Granted I don’t doubt there are more than 2,000 KB toys promo sheets… The sheets are not $100 anymore no matter which way you look at it and claiming that the recent sales on ebay are faked is totally baseless and irrelevant. Supply and demand rules above all else, right now there is more demand.
Prices aren’t what they used to be, you just gotta adjust with the flow
No way in hell there is “Hundreds of thousands” uncut fossil sheets. Ebay would be absolutely flooded with them. I seriously doubt there is more than a few thousand.
There can’t be hundreds of thousands. Even then, this year at World, someone shared with me that more than a decade ago kids were given sheets at Worlds. Most of them were seen cutting the cards to play or get signed by the winners of that year. I share this because as kids ,seeing that sheet would’ve provoked a lot of them to cut them, especially because it meant that they had many of the same holos from Fossil to give to their friends and use some to play.
