Hi guys. I need an approximate price range for a base set Japanese booster box and base set English box. I have a gentleman that is interested in selling and he is an all around collector in that he dabbles in a bit of everything. He bought these 2 boxes back in 1999 and just held them. I told him I would reach out to help get pricing and find a possible buyer but I need a clear idea on price. For reference, I did a video 5 years ago where I showed off the 2 boxes. I bought his theme decks but the boxes were out of my price range even back then. Let me know your thoughts please!
Prices have gone up significantly for Japanese Base.
Base decks should be checked if they may be Shadowless. It changes value drastically.
Base decks (non-shadowless) -$350-400
Fossil/Jungle decks - $200
Base blue wing booster box - $35-45,000
Japanese Base booster box - $120-150,00
Raw Japanese Base packs are about $2k, graded ones $3k. If they have money to spend, they may want to do some math on ripping and grading the light packs.
Only some will have holos but you get 60! Then you could even X-ray scan for a zard or just sell as heavy. Allows you to rip a few for fun. There is basically no premium to the sealed box going off recent sales. They were a few months ago so maybe they can fetch closer to the $150 range. Which is $2,500 a pack.
