Prerelease clefable

Hey all!

Ive just started looking into buying a prerelease clefable as my next big purchase. Just wondering if anyone can tell me where it’s sitting at the moment price wise?

Thanks

Like most collectibles, condition determines the value.

I’d start appx 100.00 for NM and go up from there.

Ok, thanks Garry!
That’s a little less than what I was expecting so that’s good to know :stuck_out_tongue:

it’s insane how the price shot up since December. All of 2015 I was searching for one on ebay but the listings would always sell before I could buy. These were all NM cards and would go for $25-40. They would sell FAST. Generally within the hour they were listed. I think collectors and sellers caught on to the demand and now your lucky to get one for under $100

Anyway, good luck on getting a good deal danny. I don’t think they’re worth that much but unfortunately it’s what the market dictates :slightly_frowning_face:

I completely agree. I remember buying these for around $35-40 each a year or so ago, but the supply has drastically dropped, thus the increase in price.

I agree. I think a lot of cards are ridiculously overpriced. But that desire to complete a set (or get close because the chance of me getting my hands on a raichu is near impossible) is STRONG

Omg… Wtf! How did these get to over $100! Dam… I haven’t been tracking for years… I remember seeing these under $10 all the time around 4-5 years ago, I thought it was as common as the gyarados or aerodactyl… Guess I was wrong…
Sigh I was selling these for free in jungle sets years ago.

They are the rarest of the original prerelease promo cards. But don’t worry, I sold one in bid auction for $3, and just had to laugh… (laugh away the pain). :relieved:

These are another example of the market exceeding expectations. And that definitely happens.

It keeps ticking up the theoretical price on that PSA 10 copy as well.

I’ve been looking for one for the past few months, and had exactly the same problem! Admittedly I only check once every couple of days, but there’s very rarely anything out there on Ebay. The only one listed at the moment that I can see is as part of a collection of 54 prerelease cards, for £500 BIN. Maybe it is the pre-Raichu association…

Killing me with this $100+ price tag stuff.

I need this card and would value it at a whopping $25, $5 being for shipping.

If you had one would you sell it to me for $40?

Whatever everyone’s opinion or past experience may be (mine included), the price the card currently sells for is most relevant. I know Rusty instantly sold at least one copy for $150. The current little to no supply and the increased demand makes sense for the price fluctuation.

I wouldn’t even have it up for sale.

I clearly remember watching one that was 35$ and I didn’t buy it because it was too much. Not too long ago. If the last one I ever see is selling for over $50 I’d actually let it slip. That’s just me though.

And this is still the case if the card ever tanks in value.

I think the past few years for older pokemon cards and stuff from WoTc have increased so much. perfect example is the prerelese clefable. back a few years ago you can get one for less than $50. same with base set booster boxes. i remember them going for like 200 or less but now prices have increased like crazy. VS series is another very well known set now that back in the early times no one really cared for. now everyone wants to get into the set which makes prices and boxes higher. youtube and social media play a big role in the prices of cards going higher than they use to

Also the generation who were all 6-12 (me) when base/jungle/fossil were being produced can now afford to buy cards. People love nostalgia, so it makes sense to go back and complete a set or two. Then of course, most people can’t stop there haha

I’ve been looking for this card for a while but could never find one in a condition that would’ve justified the asking price for it. Multiple have definitely sold in the past year or so for 30-60 dollars but none above what I’d consider excellent condition. With the only difference between this card and the regular Clefable being a prerelease stamp, I definitely wouldn’t be able to justify the current price for it personally… there’s a lot of cards that you can get for 150 that are way more worth it.
