How many have you sold?

Scarcity vs rarity

Probably better not to waste time over 3.00 climbs unless you’re buying a hundred of them.

Even still the effort to resell would be a huge hasstle. You would saturate the market by Selling them all at the same time, or would spend years trying to sell them all over time just to make a $300 profit… No thanks.

Personal collections would look pretty cool though.

Uh…can someone tell me what smoking has to do with this topic? Like at all? I feel like there has to be a joke behind this post because it really is that far out there.

I think what you are essentially saying is that profits matter regardless of how small they are, correct?

I think everyone understands this, it’s just that the time and effort put in isn’t worth the small profit. There’s tons of other things you can do that would take less time and give you more profit.

This discussion is really a double-edged sword… The vast majority of my eBay Business has been low-profit items with high volume. I’ve always had this business-model and it has served me well with another source of income - and during my high-school days, my only source of income! So, I can understand where OP is coming-from. However, I’ve always had MANY DIFFERENT low-value items (not just a single-card) - and thus, I have been able to do high volume. If you’re just talking about a single-card; you’re talking both low-value and low-volume (which as a side-project isn’t necessarily bad).

It’s important to take into consideration all factors though (some of which may not apply to everyone). With this type of business-model, time is a HUGE FACTOR! It takes an unbelievable amount of time to properly-run a low-value / high-volume business - from listing / answering questions / packaging… The list goes on-and-on and the time-factor really adds-up. Personally, I don’t know how anyone can run this type of business and work full-time!

Fortunately, I’m in a position where I can work full-time for a few months and then run my eBay Business full-time for a few months. Even though time is not really a factor for me, it does take a toll! These past few months, I’ve actually been considering (and planning) to switch my business-model from loose-cards to PSA Graded Cards. Sure, it’ll take time to switch-over; however, I’m sure anyone would agree that it’s better / easier to have 2 or 3 Orders / Day for $50.00 than 10-20+ Orders / Day for that same $50.00.

Well said. Quite a while back I switched to a 50.00 minimum per listing model on my king_pokemon eBay. For me, selling cheaper stuff was simply more work than I wanted to do. My other eBay’s took up most my time and then Pokemon put me over the edge.
Now I’m fine with a little time for the family.

Also, word of advice for OP: you may want to consider getting some of your Aerodactyls graded. If the ones you have are all NM-Mint, I would imagine you may have some 9s (perhaps even a couple of 10s) in there.

Aerodactyl isn’t exactly Dragonite or Articuno in the Fossil Set, but it still commands a decent buck in a high grade.
