Positive Energy 1: Fire

Quilava from EX Unseen Forces. I love Kusajima’s art of the entire evolution line, including the promo which @mrbubbles posted above. This one feels the perfect balance of cute with fierce/determined, matching with Quilava’s place as the middle evolution

This Flareon, as well as that Double Crisis Camerupt in your later post, were also among my favorites.

Some others in no particular order I really like:

The Ponyta looks very serene. Love the reflection of course, but also just the light artwork overall. It looks like a beautiful sunset during Autumn.

The holo, texture, and colors of the Ho-Oh EX can’t really be captured well on photo imo, but it looks stunning in person.

What I really like about the slugma are the shadows, on both the rock Slugma is crawling on, as well as the rock at the left side. It’s almost as if you can feel the heat through the artwork.

The Fuecoco captures why I’ve included FA Pokémon cards with human cameos in my FA Supporter collection. I love how we see Pokémon and humans interact in just day-to-day activities, which makes the artwork very approachable and easy to relate to, despite it being a fantasy world with Pokémon.

I’m surprised the Dark Charmeleon hasn’t been mentioned by someone else yet. It’s a very iconic and well-loved artwork due to its dynamic pose, for good reason.

Speaking of dynamic and fiery poses, I love artworks that show some kind of attack or movement, and this Typhlosion defintely captures that very well! The pinkish and blue flame colors may look a bit weird at first, but considering blue flames are hotter than regular yellow/orange/red flames, and it also makes the artworks very bright, it almost appears as a welder’s flame coming out of Typhlosion’s mouth.

My time has come! My favorite fire type card is obviously Flareon from the Jungle set. I love how the colors of the card and background flow

My favorite has to be “what did I just see/walk into” Magcargo. Growing up in a household of 14 people, with extras coming and going for months on end there was always an argument, people working hard, or being festive/happily loud that would be hard to avoid when you’re just trying to chill. This card encapsulates that feeling for me.

Also I don’t have this…yet (used to have it as a wee lad)

When I think of “positivity,” I think the biggest thing for me is to never give up and to continue to pursue goals. With that being said, the pokemon that perfectly embodies this positivity is victini, almost always hitting a “:victory_hand::grin:” pose in every cameo.

I know I’m (very) late to the party, but DJ Infernape didn’t want to miss the gig.

Vintage Pick: I’ve loved this card since I was a kid, evidenced by all the creases. The artwork is so beautiful.

In-between Pick: One of the cutest cards of all time imo, and my favorite Flareon card

Modern Pick: The lighting here is just chef’s kiss
