Most evolution lines make some sense, even if you need to squint your eyes a bit. Rock becomes another rock, becomes yet another rock. That logic is without flaw no doubt
But then there are the ones like this?

I know there’s legends from different cultures that explains these evolutions but naturally it’s a bit confusing.

Although I like these designs, Pokemon that have hands, evolving into something without hands leaves me with a weird feeling

It’s really not that weird compared to many others… but was reminded of pikipek → toucannon given the ongoing Regional Bird Base Form Fight - 2 (vote to eliminate one) - #14 by ascendedbidoof poll. It bothers me that we go from a woodpecker to a toucan 
I feel the same way about Pidove and the Pheasant. Gross.
And in Ceruledge’s case…no feet in any stage. Somewhere Rob Liefeld is smiling…

And it’s mainly because of how the evolution is explained. Shellder biting a Slowpoke’s tail/head. It doesn’t look anything like a Shellder or any other known Pokemon though… maybe I’m the actual slowpoke but I think it’s weird and I don’t get it.
(Just wanna stress I love them all despite thinking the evo line is weird)
