I think @noviate was referring to the initial post by @chok , which are screenshots instead of a link to a google doc.
But you’re indeed correct you could make a copy of google documents that way, like the collaborated rarest Pokémon cards Excel linked by EnlightenedBulbasaur on the previous page.
I’ve not seen this one before. Bulbapedia is correct in that this was indeed from the Pokémon Card Gym Umbreon Night Battle, however it looks like it was something which went on throughout the entirety of June rather than on one specific date. Here is the archived Pokémon Japan article about it: web.archive.org/web/20150601044828/http://www.pokemon-card.com/event/card-event/bnb/. I’ve updated the Bulbapedia info.
Looks like there could be anywhere from 101 to 3,270 assuming that each tournament only awarded 1 prize per venue per day and that there were up to 30 days worth of tournaments. I’d guess that more than 1 prize would have been awarded per venue per day, but it doesn’t really say much about how the tournament worked.
The Japanese version is the limited one which has sold on Mercari for 450,000 yen before ($4500). The English one however was distributed more widely (not sure about how many) that there was a time where the english gold cup sells for $20 a piece. Its closer to $100 a piece now?
The English cup has some nuance in regards to the years and seasons of release - Autumn 2011 doesn’t have the same availability as Spring 2012 for example & the pops vary as well, so I think as interest fleshes out over time, those differences will be reflected in price, too.
The Japanese cups and other modern trophies have very similar differences in stamps (year and city/event of release), but since they are so rare, it’s more about getting any copy in hand.
They have the same artwork but can be distinguished by the card text. KMB has a „1“ and LMB a „2“ in the text. PSA actually lists the LMB as 1999 Pikachu trophies which is obviously incorrect.
I’m really looking forward to championships starting back up and new trophy cards being made. Not that I can even afford any of the cards on these spreadsheets, lol, but it’s always been a really interesting part of the hobby to me. Kind of sad to look at the spreadsheet and see it just … stop … around covid-19 hitting.
Do you mean the worlds trophies? If so their issue is they are awarded to people who don’t collect. The prices have been artificially low for a long time. The auction prices are better than they used to be, same with the stamped cards. More people appreciate the top cut worlds cards than before.
The English Victory cups are far more common their their pop reports suggest, but are still pretty cool cards with neat history behind them. I like them and they have risen in price over time, but never take pop reports as an indicator for long term value, as many low pop cards aren’t actually rare, they’re just not worth grading.
