For the mons that weren’t linked, they can be seen here because I am lazy.
Some observations:
To the surprise of no one, the mons are mostly g1 with a couple g2.
Decent mix of cards from across gens though
Apparently the English versions don’t have holo borders, which is a shame.
Outside of Clefairy and Clefable (which is mostly understandable), Paras and Parasect seem to be the only evolution line that don’t come from the same set, which is a bit odd.
Notably, this is the first time that Mr. Mime is printed outside of Japanese, which is pretty neat. This article explains why it was likely included here.
An observation that maybe it’s not important for most people but caught my attention. The reprint of Pokémon Nurse from Base Expansion Pack E1 lacks of Dot Codes. It’s interesting how now it looks like e-Series foreign language (French/German/Italian) cards.
Here I show different versions from Pokémon Nurse. From Left to Right:
I also share the theory that some people let me know some hours ago that they lack of Dot Codes because e-Reader is now discontinued in every region. But then I remind Crystal Energy from Creatures Deck, which had Dot Codes, but they were not functional.
Here I show different versions from Crystal Energy. From Left to Right:
Large Dot Code of Wind from the Sea version unlocks an application called "Construction: Breakout" (A Japanese Exclusive application) which I'm currently researching about.
Here’s the main screen of “Construction: Breakout”.
There’s also pikachu and raichu from different sets! Not that it’s a big correction but thought i’d mention anyway. Thanks for the lists, no slime either which isn’t very surprising sadly
This is true, I kinda brainfarted there. I guess I could say of the evolution lines that are only from modern sets, Paras and Parasect are the only ones to come from different sets, likely for gameplay reasons.
Side note as some people mentioned above that the English cards do not have a foil border and the Japanese decks look soo much better. Especially these energies
Initially I thought this was just basically going to be another Base Set reprint, but now that I see they have incorporated other sets into this, I am really looking forward to it.
The dot codes required a special printer because of the resolution. Pokemon may no longer have a working one of the printer in question or want to bother using one just for one card.
