This actually sounds interesting! If its an actual show with pokemon used as a seasoning that could end up being something fresh!

From the premise it reminds me a lot of Dad of Light , which was a live-action drama Square Enix produced to help promote their MMO Final Fantasy XIV. Similar story about a young adult who grew up playing the original games and reconnects with a newer installment that helps them through their current challenges in life.
I’m always impressed by Pokemon’s multinational marketing strategies and how they keep reinventing ways to engage and bring in new audiences outside the core video game & TCG crowds. A production with a real-world, human drama can easily reach adults in their 30s and 40s who may only remember Pokemon as that gameboy game from the 90s.
