Pokemon 'Thank You' Cards

I was wondering if people would be up for chatting about these cards?

Firstly, I have been struggling to find info about their release. They’ve got a Pokemon League stamp on them as well as the Thank You stamp. I’ve seen a bit of info on the ‘Gracias’ cards but can’t find much about the English ones.

I particularly want the Komiya Bunnelby for someone who collects Komiya cards…that’s what turned me on to them.

Also, do you think they are priced right? I’ve seen the set of 5 cards for £100 on eBay.

I’ve also seen a Hydreigon…is he also in the set? He isn’t in most photos of the set.

Any help or info would be appreciated.

And lastly, do you like them? I can’t decide. I like the idea of Pokemon acknowledging the events of this year and thanking people who have contributed. I just wish the had done something a bit more special than writing thank you on the reverse holo of a card that already existed. I’m not even sure I like their font choice…

Thanks for the reply. So were they just given out at participating stores in the US? Funny that they used Darkness Ablaze cards to promote Vivid Voltage xx

I think the Hydreigon was given as part of the DB marketing kit but the others were just distributed with Vivid Voltrage Prerelease kits to stores at the time but were intended to be given out in association with Pokemon Leagues rather than something to do with Vivid Voltage specifically. That’s why the Hydreigon doesn’t have the Play! stamp on it too where as the others do.

I’m not sure if it happened for us in the UK although there are a few popping up on ebay at the moment, 1 set recently for £52.50 which in my opinion is still way overpriced but what with COVID & lockdown going on you don’t have much choice either way :slightly_frowning_face:
