Pokemon Tazos in the US?

Some new information! Someone on Reddit had posted about allegedly acquiring some Tazos sheets from a US printing facility in Minnesota in the late 90’s, so it seems there might have been a US Tazos release at some point. Credit to @lyleberr for finding the pictures. Just wanted to post the sheets here, as it seems very relevant to this thread:

Had 3D lenticular and regular tazos as a kid they came inside potatoe chip bags, I recently finished the collection. Great nostalgic pieces!

What country are you from?

Argentina

I’m not sure if this will help to aid any research, but I collected these as a kid, and I own both of the sets released in the United Kingdom.

Originally there were 25 regular Tazos focused on gen 1 Pokémon, and 25 (plus a further 10) released in a second set later, which are “holographic”.

There’s also containers that exist for Tazos, I have a good one, but I have seen a silver one…I assume these were for the release of the second set.

By holographic do you mean lenticular?

That’s exactly what I meant. It’s also the reason I put the word in quotations, because that’s what people typically describe them as.

False alarm—the Tazos sheet is not in English. Still cool to see though.

Yep, Sabritas is Latin America. What many people dont understand is that these were released by pepsi, which has many different sub-brands, and therefore each country or region has tazos with different brand logos apart from language differences, making the total number of tazos if you ever wanted to collect them all an unthinkable one. You usually see collectors maybe having all of the latin american ones, or all European ones or maybe even all asian ones, but never have i seen a collector that has all of them.

We had them in El Salvador, though it wasn’t that much of a hit.

In English

And South Africa

That’d be great if you wanted to share pictures of the tazos collections!

Any spare metapod?

I’m not sure about these gen 1 Tazos, but it’s also plausible the English Mewtwo is from a set released in Japan?

I know there is a gen 3 set from 2013 that was released in Japan, which were also all in English (of which I’m still trying to find a loose Seviper tazo, since ~250 USD for the full set when I’m only interested in one of them is a nope even from me  ):
