Not buying every Munch promo I could find while visiting Japan last year. At least I bought one of each excluding Mimikyu.
Selling a PSA 10 1st Edition Charizard for $0.01
I wish I bought more a few years ago. Finished my goals, but was a super novice at evaluating card conditions and dismissed PSA/BGS stuff completely. Regret that I didn’t buy slabs before or send cards for submission before either.
My fiance made me pass on a PSA 9 first Ed Zard for 14k in July. But I bought a complete jungle holo rare and non holo rare set PSA 9 + error butterfree + all commons and uncommons raw in psa 7-9 shape instead for 3k.
Also sold a base set first edition booster for 600$ in 2016 that was on the heavy side before I knew it could be heavy. It turned out to be Venusaur in really good shape. However, had I cracked the packs myself, I would have ended up selling the guy the venusaur way under market value anyways cause I needed money. I also wouldn’t have my sealed artset to this day had I cracked em.
No regrets. Just further opportunity.
not buying a 2200 base set box when they were at 3400 because I couldn’t afford it without going in the hole on a credit card bill I owed at the time and I’m not into flipping, same with a 6 1st ed zard for 1400. Smart move responsibility wise, sad move prospect wise.
It’s clear that e4 needs a giant regret thread at this point
Let’s face it–everyone’s regret in this damn business has to do with a Charizard.

My kids are older now, but I regret not getting them into the hobby. I think they would have enjoyed it.
Back in June 2016 I stumbled upon a stack of Pokémon cards at a local flea market. A bunch of base, fossil and jungle were in the stack (Charizard, Blastoise and Dragonite were included among many others). I bought the stack for $40 because I hadn’t seen those type of cards since I was a little kid. I never owned Charizard as a kid so I thought it was so cool to finally have one. My biggest regret was not digging in deeper into the Pokémon card hobby after that discovery. I wish I looked into eBay and things like this before this year. I would have been able to make my dollar stretch much farther than I can now. Still an awesome experience finding those cards among everything else there that day.
I also have many regrets. Everything ive ever sold. lol
Every card sold has lead to another purchase, so no regrets despite the price rise for this reason.
If I have to name one, it’s that I waited too long to buy a reverse holo legendary zard. I wanted a psa 9, but opted to grab the fan club eevee and porygon first since they were more scarce and valuable last spring. Well now the zard is 5k and those two are 2k with little price change, so I chased the wrong pair of cards first.
Overall, I’m happy but a tad salty I waited to buy it. Cost me about 2k to do it in this order sadly.
Regret reading this thread
I was bidding back and fourth and decided not to pull the trigger on a psa 10 fossil mew for 110$ because I wanted to pay 100. earlier in the year.
Passed up on psa 10 1st base set holo’s for less than 2k back in like january.
passed up on a psa 9 1st lugia for 2k a few months ago (I don’t know what it is going for right now and I don’t want to know)
I think you did the right thing in the end. I think those you bought move slower but in the end will bring you a profit. That Charizard is going to go up and down in the market constantly, which could be a constant headache.
no ragrets
Sold a light play 1st ed base zard for $1300 in feb and a 1st ed psa 9 blaines for $500 in march. Money helped so i dont actually regret it, i regret needing the money more. I genuinely regret not starting PSA submissions when i first started collecting though
I was searching some of the graded set cards I’ve been collecting and let me just tell you shit got real fast! Between availability and price. At this point it looks like I’ll be expanding my graded collection by grading my own cards soon. So many cards are getting out of budget. I don’t like paying more then $500 a card myself. ![]()
My main regret… passing on a PSA 8 Trophy Khan for £3k… I didn’t learn from this, a few years later I passed on a raw copy for £5k.
I guess I regret selling my heavy base pack for $400 when 2 weeks later they were selling for $1000. That sucked. But I bought TRR with it, and that’s gone up too, plus it’s rarer and looks cooler, so I don’t regret it that much tbh.
