This subreddit was just created recently by the UKCardCollector store and I was hoping it would be a bigger community.
If y’all have time or any interesting nonTCG Pokemon Cards (Topsun, Meiji, Bandai Carddass/Sealdass, Amada seals, anime cards, etc… this is the place to share!)
Yeah I pretty much ditched Reddit a while back when sense of community it used to have disappeared. Funny how Reddit killed some forums and now forums are starting back up again.
I’ll pop in once in a while if it picks up. It’s always fun to see the different kinds of non-TCG items out there. But I don’t really post on Reddit much.
Hope it takes off! (And doesn’t get filled with price check/what do I have posts…)
we do have a couple things like this on e4ums already, but a long long list of posts I’ve already read is all that feels like. Also I would assume that reddit is where people looking for info would probably end up faster than elitefourums, but I’m often wrong about many things.
I’ll probably just stay based and try to keep posting on both, highly technical or more important things here, and the less necessary but flex-like posts on reddit and instagram.
One of the things I’ve been thinking about is to have something like “guilds” here for different niches. Non-tcg, error, autograph, etc
We could do things like designate experts to each “guild” or have more narrow categories, specific chats. Mostly just abstract ideas right now. If someone wants to do a trial run or flesh the concept out more I’m all ears
I am highly qualified to be a guild expert. I was the Chieftain of my friend group’s Warcraft III clan back in our Battle.net days.
On topic, I don’t think it’s going to be all that useful to further fragment the users here. I don’t really collect autographs or errors and things, but I still pop into the threads and find it all interesting. If these discussions were to concentrate in specific chats, I would probably not actively keep up and would miss out on interesting things.
If you’re just suggesting new categories for organizing topics/threads, I think that could be okay, but I guess you might not want to get too specific and end up with a category that only sees a new topic every few weeks or something.
How about pinning more or using similar way to highlight some bigger or mega threads under their respective categories? That would possibly be a way to get more attention in some niches that don’t necessarily get discussion every day but are still large enough to have special treatment
I feel like there are many non-tcg discussions on this forum, but they are scattered all over the place. We should make a big thread with everything ordered by brand or something like that to serve as a guide.
The idea behind tags, at least, is to fact like this type of organizer
Maybe we need a handful of tags that are used with more intention that can act as an aggregator for specific niches. I’ve kind of already been doing that but not in a way that intentionally highlights certain tags
I’m nor sure what is easy to change but should those said tags be market differently, like with different colour, and be on top when choosing tags? Do i remeber correctly that now it offers the most used tags first before writing anything so could it be that it offers those said tags first instead? Naturally the number of special tags should be very limited for it to work as intended then
