I was looking on eBay for some English 151 packs as a gift for a friends kid and was blown away how many were being sold by new accounts, most with this type of photo:
Grown adults like it’s their new job. I guess they do have a route and probably a larger network of people coordinating. I have 6 targets, 8 walmart supercenters, 3 best buys, and 2 barnes and nobles.
None of them have a single pack for sale except for the odd $75 charizard box that nobody wants
@smpratte When buying promo sets with swirls from the Costco tin collection and other scalped sets with cosmos promos, none of the sellers on ebay knew what a swirl was when I messaged them about it.
So many people with absolutely no interest in pokemon are buying out whatever they find bc they figured out they can double their money
Yeah I went to a Target last week and saw a group of three guys waiting around while someone restocked and it was so odd to witness. Always heard it but never saw it myself. It’s actually felt embarrassing going into stores to look for product especially Barnes and noble with it all behind the desk - not even counting the waste in gas and time. Just feel like another cretin lol so I’ve stopped until the hype slows down.
Didn’t know where to ask about this
Saw this while looking at signed stuff immediately clicked on it.

What’s the story behind the toga?
When I’m not recording videos that’s my normal attire!
One of the Target employees at my local store said they’ve started restocking Pokemon cards on random days and at random times because the same people knew their schedule and would just line up and buy it right when they stock it, so they’re switching it all up to try to give other people a fighting chance to buy some.
Just buy singles at this point lol, theres no point in looking for packs to open.
The bubble is way to big and it’s gonna pop at some point.
Oh I don’t collect modern, was just passing along how crazy it’s gotten.
-System: User, RabidSquirtle has suffered death of cringe and shame from having to share the hobby with some people
Also the fact that they have one full container and 3 random probably means that they had to fight others over the extra three probably ripped them out of other peoples hands as most videos on this have people taking them by container not by seperate product
Dont talk bad about gam gam
It is just like the rare fridge and shed find videos. Just take some valuable items from your collection and pretend to find them somewhere = views. Grandma even thought ahead to get some items PSA graded!
Don’t you have a sealed collection of neo blisters and base/base 2 packs with a couple jungle and rocket packs hidden away at your grandma’s house?
I also love how they threw in a Pokemon toy to make it look more realistic, also if I was a kid I’m 100 percent ripping every pack the only packs I’ll believe are from 1999 is that pack that a kid stuck in his binder because it’s his lucky pack and was destroyed I don’t think any kid had 30 packs locked up for the future and if they did it was dug up during the Poke craze of 2020 when it became popular again
Cringe part is using a gold star card for an Arita signature, for anyone wondering
Right, having Arita sign a card that he never illustrated just because it’s popular and will sell for lots of money. Also getting a card signed on 2/11 and immediately listing it on PokeColor.
Thats Nov 2nd instead of Feb 11th, but same point, still within a few months.
It’s gotta be gut wrenching as an artist signing cards knowing the person standing across the table from you doesn’t give a crap about meeting you or getting the card signed, just the $$$
Yep, November 2nd.
In Japan, dates are actually written YMD, not MDY or DMY. Does anyone know why some artists choose DMY rather than YMD when signing cards?
I think that probably goes both ways
