Pokemon Conspiracies (Lore)

What’s up everyone! Recently I’ve been watching some “Pokemon Conspiracy Iceberg” videos where the narrator addresses a handful of them and gives their thoughts on their validity. There are some pretty out-there ones, and some others, while lesser known, seem to have some plausibility to them.

One that stood out to me was a conspriracy claiming that Latios/Latias have a specific connection to the Togepi evolutionary line. I’ll expand on that later after work, but wanted to get some discussion going in the meantime.

What are some of your favorite conspiracies or lore in the Pokemon world? Feel free to share!

One of things i’m curious about Pokemon world that it’s almost like an ideal futuristic utopia or a world very close to that.
A world of abundance and harmony with nature. Incredibly high technology without a touch of cyberpunk. The economy allows for income from a variety of sources. The only time I remember poverty being mentioned was in those anime episodes about Jesse’s childhood (from the times when pokemon lore weren’t developed enough and we even saw some real life animals in anime so i’m not sure abou that).

The “Power of Us“ is a perfect example of what i’m talking about. The movie shows realistic aspects of life (such as antisocial behavior or death), but overall, this world is so perfect in terms of “hi-tech future“ it’s unbeleavable.

Magnemite being based on a UFO fuel cell/ core as described in various UFO folklore dating back to the 80’s with such as with individuals like Bob Lazar. Which almost seems confirmed by Magezone’s UFO-like appearance. Or other orb UFO folklore, I think there’s an internet story about someone finding a fuel core and it could move on its own or something. I think I saw it on the Why Files once.

Mr. Mime being a “DMT entity”/ Jester/ “Clockwork Elf”/ “Machine Elf”/ whatever you wanna call it. Which gained more credence after gaining fairy typing.

Gastly’s evolution line is basically it slowly gaining its full body into the world of the living from its plane of existence.

Phantump are the ghosts of children who were originally kidnapped by Drifloon.

Phantump Game Descriptions

These Pokémon are stumps possessed by the spirits of children who died in the forest. Their cries sound like eerie screams.

After a lost child perished in the forest, their spirit possessed a tree stump, causing the spirit’s rebirth as this Pokémon.

This Pokémon came to be when the spirit of a deceased child possessed a tree stump. It now wanders the forest searching for friends.

Drifloon Game Descriptions

It tugs on the hands of children to steal them away. However, it gets pulled around instead.

It is whispered that any child who mistakes Drifloon for a balloon and holds on to it could wind up missing.

These Pokémon are called the “Signpost for Wandering Spirits.” Children holding them sometimes vanish.

Stories go that it grabs the hands of small children and drags them away to the afterlife. It dislikes heavy children.

Said to lure away young children and carry them off to the afterlife. Some whisper that Drifloon are formed of reincarnated human souls, but these rumors are as yet unconfirmed.
