Hey guys, I just came across these two pins for my collection. I noticed they say “Search for Red Gyarados” on them. I know it was some kind of pretend search event for Pokemon Center New York, but other than that I am having the hardest time finding any more information on the event. Were there more pin versions produced? Does anyone happen to know of a complete list? What exactly did the event entail?
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I went to most of the promotional release events at the Pokémon Center and there were various give aways and contests with prizes. I was pretty young but participated in several. One had a Pikachu painted car filled with Pikachu plushies and you could guess how many Pikachus were in the car, closest guesses got prizes. For another event there was a trivia where they asked questions to random people in the crowd like "how many forms does Deoxys have " and if they got it right they’d win a prize. My guess based on past events is that this was less of a hide and seek style event and more that they gave out these pins to everyone at the event and a few of the pins had a Gyarados on them that they could redeem for a prize. But I don’t know official details.
Sounds amazing! It would have been awesome to grow up near a Pokemon center. My parents had to scour stores to even find me booster packs lol
