"Pokemon Card 151" Set - General Discussion

Is it confirmed to have a metal card?

I mean, this has been said again and again over the years. Happened with vstar universe, shinystar V, etc.

In some months this card will be very cheap.

Is that just for the japanese release? I mostly collect english so I’m hoping it might be smaller over here.

I really dont want to buy a 1000 card binder they’re expensive lol.

Dang I missed the ETB drop on the Pokemon Center site. The already marked the box unavailable. Hopefully more come up!

I think we can all confidently say that indeed this is, without a doubt, certainly a modern set

Can someone help me out here - is the Japanese gold metal etched card part of the English set? Or is it another JP product? I don’t see anything on the JP PokĆ©mon center site.

It will be a metal etched version of that card. There is no released art of it yet, so they use the image of the Japanese card to show it off. The Gold Mew should also be in the regular set.

Yeah that seems to be the case now thanks to that one variant  I’m not sure how it fares on the English side though

Aren’t they different arts than in the regular sets? At least i was under impression that the core set will be same as japanese and the promos will be AR cards, alternative artworks or exclusive holo versions

You are correct!

Uh what? Maybe for CHRs and cheaper ARs, but VSTAR Universe’s chase cards (e.g. the Pikachu AR) are going for hundreds of dollars. The Giratina Alt Art from Lost Abyss is still through the moon. The Mew from 25th Anniversary has gone nuts. So have plenty of other chase cards from modern sets, and many of them were actually significantly cheaper out of the gate.

Not sure where you are getting any of these cards are ā€œvery cheap.ā€

Just doing metal version of regular cards is an interesting choice that I’m not a fan of. The charizard and pikachu ones for celebrations made sense but otherwise, just do a normal non metal card promo.

Cause with some very few exceptions, the 80-90% of them drop in price. Some outliers increase but i the vast majority, at least like 6 months later are way cheaper.

I’m sure the ETBs will come back up! Recently they seem to favor doing the ETB drops in waves and I haven’t seen any recent modern product really be too difficult to get, so hopefully they keep it that way!

I went all in on this set, waiting for multiple packages of boxes and singles to arrive. I single handily made CardRush sell out yesterday and I loved the power

I wonder what the logic is behind the mon choices on the mini tins. I originally thought it was type coverage, but there aren’t even any fairy mons on the tins.
