Perhaps true… but just because an artist or studio h as a style it does not mean that they can’t do other styles, and really well! But you have a very good point. And as a one-off, it makes sense if they wanted to use a CG studio they hadn’t yet used in this set… I think.

Did 5ban do any other cards?

Welp, see y’all in a couple weeks. Decided I’m going to try and avoid the SR’s since I have a box arriving around release and I want the nostalgia feeling to be maximized. First time I ever saw a Zard was when I pulled one from a base pack as a kid so I figured it’s only fitting.

Anything for dopamine these days…

Honestly this set just makes me want this to be a thing for each generation. Make a Johto one next and so on. As much as the first 151 are cool, I just feel more attached to gens 2-4. Wish they got the same treatment as this. Would be a cool way to run through history without milking Kanto and base set so much.

Completely agreed. I’d love to see them create what is basically a national dex, one generation at a time. I think it’s ironic that even in the base era, we NEVER had an actual regional dex set in the tcg.

with zapdos being revealed, we should have a better idea of the number of AR/SARs in the set (at least for pokemon) since zapdos is the second to last ex in the set
