I was only asking because my main partner on the GIANT Birthday Pikachu buy we made from Media Factory in 1999 was a Floridian. His name was Steve Gordon and he passed away in 2002 or so. I didn’t think many knew him and thought maybe you had based on that line:)
No, just an interesting coincidence. I’m sorry for the loss of your friend, of course. I hope he didn’t see the article at the time and think I was poking fun at him
There is a ridiculous amount of historical value in publications like these specifically because they’re often wrong. They teach us SO much about timelines of when information became available/widely known and what people thought at a given time. I love the heck out of this type of thing and I’m dead serious when I say that I would be seriously interested in engaging some sort of publication. I know for a fact we could create a kickstarter and get a significant funding boost from something like this is we wanted to do it. Writers would be reasonable to come by. The only things we’d need (and they are big hurdles) are: Permission to create the publication/use the information/images/etc. and someone to do extremely high quality graphics work.
Haha I find it so cool that this was posted here so many years on from it being published and it just so happens the author is active on the forum cool to look back at what was considered rarities so long ago yet now we see them commonly, the trade please card I had no idea of the history on it, ive been looking for a 10 worthy one for ages just for that holo back!
Also just a thought, maybe there could be like a monthly round up or something on the forums for news etc, just to give everyone an idea of what a potential publication could be like in the future, maybe it’s a bit much but I would definitely give it a read!
This, I would enjoy reading something of the sort even if it wasn’t “official”. I know there are issues with the idea of an unofficial publication that couldn’t be ignored, but it sounds nice to have something like that again.
