Partial refund because buyer found it cheaper elsewhere

I sold a copy of the recent promo Pikachu SM81 from the Shining Legends Ho-Oh box for $9.00 on a best offer. I put it up at $14.99 because there was no one else selling it and figured adding best offer would help me find a fair price to sell it for. So, I accept the buyers offer of $9 and then I get this message today:

"Hello

I have overpaid on this item $6

I purchased the item for $9 at the time I did not know the Rarity price or Rarity because the item hasn’t been released yet.

I am sorry for any inconvenience I would like a partial refund for $6 please.

I have purchased this item from another seller for $3 on eBay"

I obviously said no partial refunds offered due to a ridiculous reason like this but I know eBay will side with the buyer if he decides to open a return case. How stupid can people be? This guy has over 500 positive feedback meaning he can’t be a complete newbie. If this guy cared so much why not wait a week until the official release and get it for nice and cheap? eBay has me to the point in the last few months where I can’t stand dealing with people anymore.

He has explicitly stated that he is only asking for a refund due to buyer’s remorse. eBay does not permit that.

Reject it. Send the card. Let him file a return and then take it up with eBay. Just be overtly polite the whole time and eBay should side with you.

Too many want to save a buck at the detriment of our hobby.
If you care about your feedback then just bend over to the lowlife.

I turned him down through message and he isn’t putting up a fight yet so we’ll see what happens.
