Opinions needed on a card(Old PSA Case)

I’ve been looking to buy this card. Last night I had pics on a white background so it looked almost flawless. Now I notice the slight edge wear way better, so I’m a bit undecided on two things. The case, and the grade(9). I think it was graded in 2002 or so.

My issue is the card is pretty much loose in the case, can that affect condition over time? I’m not usually this picky, but it’s an old graded card and I’d be paying almost full price + possible customs. It’s also mislabeled but that’s a non issue for me.

I don’t have a PSA sub and I would most likely keep it as is. Holo looks flawless, only thing I can see on the front is MAYBE very slight silvering on left edge? Centering is good on both sides.

Back has the minor edge wear you can see. The white dot near the upside down P seller said looks to be debris inside the case. Would you buy as a 9?

I know it’s not a 10, but it would be the biggest piece of my 1 month old collection. Let me know what you think.

Pictures are up, can you see them? I messed up the links somehow when I first posted. Sorry.

  1. It’s in a protective sleeve that doesn’t let it slide around so easy unless you shake it hard enough.

  2. That looks to be as solid of a 9 as they come, I’d buy it as is, and keep it as is. Doesn’t look worthy enough to regrade

I would say it is a 9, and if you don’t like the sleeve, you could send it to PSA and get it reslabed. It would keep the same cert number, etc.

Looks like a solid mint 9.

I can’t remember the last time I saw a pokemon card graded in the 90,000,000s. So that’s pretty unique. As far as protection goes, I wouldn’t go and shake it around a bunch. For instance, if you we’re to go bullriding I wouldn’t suggest leaving it in your back pocket. Otherwise it’s a fine example. A keeper for sure

Thanks guys. Here’s what I was looking at last night, wondering why this didn’t get a 10… lol Glad I asked for a darker background this morning.

I wish they still did it like this…

Where it was in a really nice sleeve.

But a non wavy one like the perfection BGS use.

And with those grooves giving clear distance from the card.

THAT would be true protection, just like a bgs case.
