Does anyone else have this problem? I have gone above and beyond for buyers on eBay. I usually always throw in extra cards as a bonus. I always cover shipping and a lot of times I upgrade to priority for free. Why do these buyers not leave feedback? It’s happened several times! I have 100% feedback mostly as a buyer so I’m trying to get more selling feedback. It’s just frustrating when you go above and beyond and they don’t leave feedback.!
What I do is pay no attention to that at all. Saves me from ever being annoyed about it;)
I leave feedback once a month generally. Others might do that too so you may have some come in late, but ultimately that’s pretty much my experience. About 20% leave feedback.
I’ve given up on caring if people leave feedback or not. I used to leave feedback immediately upon receiving payment but have since stopped and actually started to receive feedback more often, kind of strange. Now I leave feedback whenever I remember to, but especially if a buyer leaves it for me first.
I agree with @teraz, I leave feedback in bulk around every month or so. There’s a seller that messaged me to leave feedback three times within 24 hours of my item being delivered. It actually ended up annoying me and making me not want to leave feedback, although I still will.
I’ve always found closer to double that leave feedback for me. I leave it 100% of the time as I receive each item I buy. It is the only way I can keep track of what should still be in the mail. I think there are a lot of people that only leave feedback though when things go wrong.
My personal stats : 3,136 feedback on 7,369 transactions past 12 months. =43%
14,346 feedback on 37,034 transactions lifetime. = 39%
It’s been pretty consistently around there from back when I’d do 100 transactions a year through current.
Good idea. I just won’t look anymore
My rules.
Only leave feedback once the buyer gives you feedback first. As something can always go wrong like a return or damage in transit. Then you can’t retract it if a bad outcome happens. Also they might not care leaving you feedback if you give first.
If no feedback is left then just ask politely after 3 or so weeks.
When you do get feedback always reciprocate.
After a while though if you have over 25 feedback and 100% then that is trustworthy enough.
Although shipping quicker and giving extra cards out of you own pocket is a great gesture it really doesn’t make a difference in my opinion feedback wise. But it will help in the long run for people to buy from you again.
Slow and steady.
I leave feedback when I get around to it. Lately I’ll go through and just leave it for the folks that have left it for me.
I found ebay’s bulk feedback tool to be tedious and very very slow so it’s discouraged me from using it. I know they’ve been doing some updates to the feedback portal lately so not sure if it’s better now. eBays feedback system is a big sick joke anyways.
Same philosophy here. I wait for the buyer to leave feedback first.
Sums up my life quite perfectly
Leaving feedback as a seller is automated for me. If you pay for an item it is automatically left for you from a grab bag of about 5 or 6 generic statements. I love that feature. It does suck a bit when you get a shitty buyer that you would want to leave a specific comment about but since it has to be positive then nobody would find it anyways.
Occasional annoyances do come from even this system still. It effectively stops all the buyers asking if/when I’d leave feedback as a seller, but now I get the “I see you left feedback but haven’t shipped my item yet, did you forget?” every so often.
A lot of times I dont leave feedback on items I buy. It helps my collection stay private. I’ve witnessed people bugging winning buyers for their items by tracking them through the feedback system. I know this happened because the customer of mine told me and my advice to them was to not leave feedback. I’ll always leave feedback on the selling end, but, like Gary, I don’t worry about receiving it.
I leave feedback for the buyers straight away.
Once I get my item I leave feedback for the seller. As this helps keep track of orders.
Sold 9 items on ebay and only recieved 1 feedback. I think it is mostly luck and I wouldn’t worry about it. Making sure you provide a good service and prodcut is all you can do.
Don’t stress the feedback, I get feedback left like 1/5 times, it’s more likely that you won’t receive feedback than you will IMO.
I only ever get feedback on 2% of my sales. I dont mind, as long as nobody is opening false claims or trying to scam me I consider myself lucky.
If you want to inflate your feedback use it to buy small items. I use my selling account whenever I’m buying a random $1-5 items.
It does annoy me a bit if a buyer doesn’t leave feedback. I could get my top rated seller status back if everyone did (I lost it for a lack of sales for couple of months). But of course you can’t expect everyone to do that and that’s normal. I personally leave feedback soon after receiving my items
I have a problem with sellers not feedback. Just checked, I have a half dozen sellers, I have left positive feedback for and they have haven’t reciprocated.
If you think eBay Buyers are bad at leaving feedback; you should have tried being an Amazon Seller before FBA! Before FBA; feedback was semi-important on Amazon; however, it was nearly impossible to increase your feedback-score and build-up your reputation. The majority of people who would actually bother to leave feedback on Amazon were people that wanted to leave a negative - very, very, very few people would bother leaving a positive on Amazon. I bet most people didn’t even know you could leave feedback on Amazon! Haha
Luckily, now that we have FBA, feedback really doesn’t affect your Seller Account - unless of course you’re describing your items inaccurately (which is actually super-easy to avoid).
