I sold some 1st edition Team rocket non-holo cards. Because of school and my other jobs I can’t guarantee I’ll ship until Sunday. So I put that down in the down in the description. TMI but I’d rather give too much information so the buy knows what to expect. Buyer buys cards tuesday and says thursday please send. I informed them that based on the description I don’t normally send until sunday and that if there’s anytime free time between work and school I will try to get their order out. I get this response.
“I don’t need your life story dude just get me the card next week please”
I’d rather keep my buyers informed rather than say nothing. A lot of times people are understanding. I just get the feeling that I might get a negative feedback from this. I already blocked the buyer. Anyone else sell to anyone this month and feel like you might get a negative feedback based on their attitude?
I just sold someone NIB headphones and they left me negative feedback because they supposedly didn’t fit(one size fits all). Then they lied that I blew them off. Cant win…
That was me. I don’t like you bringing our business here. Get me my cards by next week or else…
I’m just kidding, but as a buyer I usually am good with a delay or whatever the situation is as long as the seller is upfront and keeps me posted. it sounds like you did this so I think you are going about it the right way!
@hisoka107 You did the right thing by informing the buyer. I’ll take over-communication any day above none at all. I think people expect professional shipping speeds like Amazon and he sounds like a tool.
There are always going to be those few people that give us problems. Pokemon card collecting is bigger than ever so more popularity will draw a larger pool of annoying buyers.
you definitely can’t win, but I still try to make sure I give the best service I can. Like I mentioned in the COVID thread, I can be wrong and posting questions/venting here helps me to get multiple sides.
Did you fight the negative feedback? I was able to do that in past.
That’s why I don’t take negative feedback seriously anymore. Guy was selling a fake golden chain and he clearly stated that it’s not a real gold and still got a bad feedback because customer thought it was a real gold (for $15 real gold haha). Another dude were selling playstation 4 with a broken drive (he clearly stated that in the description), still got a negative feedback lol. Most of the buyers don’t really read.
Had someone leave me negative feedback because the postal man didn’t get a signature. So they said I ripped him off $3 lol. Didn’t even bother to check with me first, Thankfully I had a receipt so eBay removed it.
There will always be people like that out there, but you handled yourself perfectly @hisoka107,. As a buyer myself, I greatly appreciate when a seller is upfront and honest with me. Some people are just very impatient or downright rude, so don’t let it get to you!
In regard to the person potentially leaving negative feedback, I’d say to just update them when you have something important to relay and be appreciative in your messages and hopefully when the item arrives they will have a better attitude.
I ship all around the world and sadly USA seems to always have the highest % of inpatient, childish and annoying buyers in general even if u compare it to all other countries combined.
Just recently some moron opened an item not received case when it had only been barely a week after I shipped the item for them (from Europe) without even messaging me or asking any questions prior. Obviously he didn’t read the description either and expected 1.30$ international shipping to include tracking, when it clearly states that I have multiple shipping options on checkout and the cheapest one doesn’t include tracking. No negative fb yet tho, but oh well it is what it is…
Yeah, I’m contesting it but its been a week so who knows. They blatantly lied all because I told them I cant accept a return on an open product. Thought that was pretty obvious, I’m not Amazon haha.
Honestly, unless you really need the money I would just cancel the order and dispute any negative feedback from it with Ebay. If he messages you and asks why, send a screenshot of his first response with a smiley face. I’ve done similar things with a few rude/unreasonable buyers over the years and it feels amazing lol. (Especially with low pop cards)
one or two negative feedback here is fine. no worries. can’t avoid all tools. this guy/girl clearly doesn’t understand eBay standards on shipping. listings have the shipping expectations set by the SELLER, not the buyer.
