No Love for Articuno?

Anybody ever wonder why Articuno got such little love when compared to the other birds Zapdos and Moltres through the WOTC era?

Articuno only saw 2 main series cards/artworks while the other birds doubled up enjoying 4 artworks each. Such a shame as I would love to see more amazing Articuno artwork like “Misty’s Articuno” or something from the gym series.

Wonder how and why these selections were made and why was Articuno the least favored birdy of the bunch by the decision makers?

Which is your fav of the trio and WOTC artwork?

I love this blaine’s moltres art and holo, still need to pick one up.

Mistys Articuno and Mistys Blastoise would have been great ideas

I’m guessing Articuno got fewer copies due to the fact that there were a ton of water and ice types in the original 151. I really wish we could’ve gotten GB promos of all of the legendary birds based on their appearance in the GBC game, like we did with Dragonite. I understand that their abilities and moves simply wouldn’t have worked outside of the video game, but I wouldn’t have minded if they tweaked those for the physical prints.
