Hi everyone!
Today is the day I’ve decided to share my Eevee collection, in the making since 2023! Why today? Because I have completed my personal goals for the collection and need to mark the occasion somehow!
This post is probably going to be a bit personal to me since the TCG has become quite a large part of my life in the past few years, and I hope some of the story behind it can resonate with you all.
Not interested, no problem Part 3. The collection section
Part 1. My reintroduction to the TCG
It’s 2013, my brother and I meet up and decide to visit a small café that had just opened catering to all things nerdy. On our way out, I spotted a Sylveon collection box, and I thought that the small figurine would make a neat little desk trinket at work. I never thought much about the cards, at the time I leaned towards the video games.
And for a few years, Sylveon sat at my desk, and the collection sat in the back of the closet.
Fast-forward to 2023, my dear friend @magikarpflail had gotten me excited about the release of 151, and I was pretty hyped (I like to avoid hype, but I think most of us can understand that 151 hit different right?). We had agreed to open the packs in person together, so now there was a few months of “the wait”. And so, I dug out the Sylveon collection from the closet, and it felt like opening a time capsule. The little trinket that once sat on my desk 10 years ago marking the beginning a much bigger journey. And I noticed that there were a couple of Eevee cards, and I decided that I could perhaps collect all of the Eevee cards…
Part 2. I know nothing about the TCG
In the beginning, the goal of collecting all was fuzzy, not well defined, and honestly, not well understood by me. Thinking back, I imagine it sort of like I’d accepted a quest and accidently skipped the cutscene that explained everything. I recall feeling shocked when discovering that there were reverse holos for so many cards.
While trying to figure out exactly what all meant, I ended up here! A fantastic resource called Elite Fourum. I found threads of other Eevee collectors, and after a lot of time spent admiring some collections, I began to understand and reform my own collection ambitions. This was definitely a critical point for me because I needed to know what was actually within my means, and knowing about some of the rarer cards (ponchos, fan club) really helped me narrow my focus. As I reflect on the journey, writing this post, I realise how collecting a species such as Eevee exposed me to pretty much every era of the TCG and I definitely learned a lot because of that. I even built my own Pokemon tracking website out of that passion (there’s a very nerdy connection to my username there if there are any programmers among us ). And I also realised that the community here is something special, so much hard work has clearly been put into helping others
Alright enough story time, here’s the collection already.
Part 3. The collection section
The core collection (English). The only card to my knowledge that is missing is the “d” Error from Jungle, which I decided to exclude mostly just because an error card to me feels like an extra rather than part of a core collection. The cards are spread between a toploader binder, sealed products, and graded cards.
Part 3 (continued). Japanese detours
I can’t (or won’t) explain how, but over the 2 years I’ve been working on this English Eevee collection, I’ve picked up a few Japanese cards. I will not be taking questions
Part 3 (part 3). Some fun extras
I’ve picked up a few other product which feature Eevee, collection boxes, and tins, the pouch of course!
Eevee’s name in Italian is Eevee! Who would have thought, not me apparently!
I just love the Yu Nagaba collection okay! When I was browsing eBay back in the early days of the collection, I actually tried to pick up a sequential PSA 10 set of these, however, the seller decided I was not worthy (I had not built up my feedback much at this point).
The Eevee from the Gem 2 was too cute, but it felt lonely as one of the few Chinese cards I have, so I collected it some friends
I hold a soft spot for the Pokemon Together stamp from 151, because it was the set that @magikarpflail and I ripped together. I even travelled to a local Poke-Post event to pick up this card, so it means a lot, and they have the Pikachu of course
Part 4. What’s next?
I’m as up to date as I think I can be, and honestly it’s kind of nice to overcome the stresses of looking for so many cards. I know I just need to pick up new cards now (and yeah, Prismatic Evolutions had me scrambling with how many Eevee cards there were).
To me, collecting Eevee has been about more than just collecting cards. It’s let me reconnect with my past, with friends, and develop a passion I never really gave the time it deserved. Given the current state of the market in 2025, where things have been difficult/impossible to buy, I’m honestly pretty happy to be able to take things a little easier for a while (for anyone who actually read all of this, I appreciate you, and hope it was somewhat enjoyable! )
