Yeah like BOTW downgrade in graphics for being an openworld and having a camera in it. You expecting too little and being impatient to purchase your dose of poor developed games is the problem we faced with S&S. Billionaire company and you are happy to choose between poor quality and nice gameplay and good quality and poor gameplay, why not both?
Pictures in breath of the wild are just screenshots. You can do the same thing in sword and shield. Creating a a game where the entire point is to take extremely dynamic photographs around centerpiece animation is unique to Pokemon Snap. There’s a reason people pose in photo shoots and a reason the game is designed around pre programed scenarios for the Pokemon, though which scenario happens will now assuredly have more possibilities.
The game may or may not be good, but I guarantee you will enjoy it more if you go in with a better attitude. Not everything is a battle, and this is coming from someone who was here arguing about Sword and Shields lack of new animation as someone who understands what it takes to do it
Don’t get me wrong this game will be 1000% better than S&S crap. Rail system is obsolete imo, it’s like going to Disney and jumping in a roller coaster. You ride it once and it’s great, you ride it for the 10th time and it becomes a pointless trip where all the actors play the same role over and over again.
I personally love Disney World, so maybe it’s just a difference of opinion. I think that the rails allow for the animators to do much more complex and focused things, such as in a photoshoot environment for models, but I guess we won’t have to wait too long to find out
I know, it’s the lack of innovation that turns me down every time a Pokemon game is released. Pleasing the lowest standard and never risking for creative ideas. I hope this game is not just SNAP with better graphics, that’s all. I am also excited to see it. Maybe this is the best Pokemon game in a long time.
While I am personally very excited to get it, I think that unfortunately many people will be disappointed. These days games get hugely over hyped and don’t live up to hopes or expectations. (have we learned nothing from Cyber Punk!?). The Pokémon Company knows what they are doing and at the end of the day want to appeal to new kids and older people who remember the original game fondly. I think we can expect basically the old Snap with new graphics. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I wouldn’t expect it to break any new boundaries in gaming.
I know everyone is tired of hearing about Logan Paul. But I have had an interesting idea. Last box break there were 350k live viewers and 11M total views.
If someone bought a pack and had their shout out be “Please ask everyone watching to tweet at or DM the official Pokémon account and request a New Pokémon Snap Card Contest”, how many people do you think would listen / would it be enough to start trending on Twitter and go viral organically?
I have been requesting specific Chanseys for twelve years without success, but there is power in numbers, especially if Pokémon sees a money making opportunity.
I don’t know how long the shout outs are allowed to be but something like this…
“This pack was purchased by a group of Pokemon Snap fans. In 1999, there was a photo contest where the best in-game pictures were turned into real life cards. Now we have the opportunity to encourage Pokemon to do another contest for New Pokémon Snap. Please tweet at pokemon using #NewPokemonSnapContest and if it goes viral, Pokémon will listen!”
It’s also worth noting that because the break is on the official 2/27 Pokémon Day, Pokémon will likely be running promoted content on Twitter already & monitoring their socials, and with more people tweeting about Pokémon than usual, the Twitter algorithm will pick up #NewPokemonSnapContest as trending quicker than if no one else was tweeting about Pokémon.
