This is a huge W for my Latin American speaker friends. This also makes me wonder if the “normal” spanish language can now be considered not in spanish but Castilian (“Castellano”), the spanish talked in Spain.

Actually no, like its crazy how different both spanish are, I’m a native spanish speaker from Spain while @dromanyte is from Latin America, and the differences include both vocabulary and grammar. This is something that has been called out too many times for both games and TCG and its actually great they decided to make it a thing.

I mean, seeing the scottish to english translations would be amazing, but I dont think having more inclusion and representation is pointless for many people.

In the recent years, in Latin America community there has been an intense debate regarding translation of main Pokémon games to Latin America Spanish language due to the current Spanish one (Spain Spanish) was overloaded of expressions that could only be understood by people from Spain …
There was some chaos and even I remember that there was a video involving Latin American voice actors of Ash & Brock …
However, in case of Pokémon cards literally NOBODY complained about the texts of the cards (or at least I haven’t seen it) …
As a Latin American Spanish speaker, I can say that the texts of Spain Spanish Pokémon cards are almost in “Neutral Spanish” and are not overloaded with expressions. In other words, no matter if you’re from Latin America or Spain, you can understand the texts of the cards …
I consider that the release of the Latin American Spanish cards is a direct consequence of all the debate that have been for years regarding Pokémon games translations …

Completely agree, it was something to do with games, not TCG. Even through I’m not mad because maybe now on castillian spanish cards receive expresions for spanish guys.

Latin America is composed of several countries … Not only Mexico. It includes Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Panama and several others.
I’m currently based in Peru. Here in Peru, Pokémon cards are mainly sold in English and also in Spanish (Spain) (to a lesser extent) …
Probably, TPCi wanted to promote local language … despite people here in Peru clearly prefers English due to it’s more commercial.

Guess this means I guess I’ll go “visit” my family in Peru and come back with some luggage full of whatever Eevees end up coming out in Latin American Spanish.
