Mystical Gaming Disaster with Preorders

Don’t know how many know about this but there is a disaster occurring with a company called mystical gaming (https://www.mysticalgc.com/) who also sells on ebay by the same name and on amazon. He has a letter on the website outlining the issue.

This guy basically takes preorder money and then tells customers he cannot fulfill the order. You have to PREPAY for the preorder so he has to be playing some sort of game with the preorder money that is suppose to be set aside to pay for the product. It is all around fishy to me. Customers who paid with paypal said they had to rely on paypal’s buyer protection program to get their money back. Honestly, if you don’t have the working capital to buy your inventory then you shouldn’t be in this business.

Don’t do any preorders with this company going forward. You might be okay buying “in stock” items as long as you are paying with something with buyer protection like paypal.

This seller was always showing huge red flags for many months. I think there were some (probably fake) reddit accounts in the MTGFinance subreddit that would constantly hype them up for preorders. They would put up product, including very limited VIP boxes, at lower prices than anyone else and people always reported many months of delays or never receiving boxes. Seemed too good to be true and it looks like it was unfortunately for them.

I had preordered some Champion’s Path ETBs from them and when this all started, I put in a request with my CC company and got my money back early. If the problem came from them mismanaging their $ and running their business poorly, then I have no sympathy for them, but if they were doing everything right and just had a stroke of bad luck, then I wish them the best. Quite unfortunate for anyone that didn’t go to their institution for a refund.
