My Tomokazu Komiya japanese cards binder

My Tomokazu Komiya’s binder (japanese master set)

Hello there

I first shared the link to my binder in this thread Japanese Unlimited Legend series - #223 by Frosty.Puppy

But as Frosty.Puppy friendly suggested it, I will also share it in its own thread. Maybe people will be happy to discover some unknown edition of their favorite card….

The idea to start this binder came from an other French great collector (he’ll recognize himself) and I thank him for that because it’s really my favorite binder.

I started around 2022 after 2 years of collecting only full sets from base expansion pack to legends era. As I bought a lot of bulk lot on mercari Japan, I had already many (many) cards available and I was able to complete 50% of the binder quite quickly.

But now I’m close to the 100% only after 3 years as all the cards are not really easy to find. So I think it could be interesting to share which cards I struggled more and if there are questions, I could answer them later.

I’ll sort them from hardest to easiest

Legends L2/L3

E series → those are probably the hardest but pretty underrated still

  • Clefairy ued
  • Charmeleon ued
  • Bulbazaur ued

XY

  • Chandelure XY11
  • Forretress XY2
  • Cyndaquil XY2
  • Magneton XY8
  • Binacle XY10

The rest of XY ued, I found quite easily but I think it’s a matter of luck

EX WCP

  • Skitty ued
  • Slakoth ued
  • Aron ued
  • Metang ued

Mew Deck → I found quite quickly but I don’t think they are easy to find now

  • Sentret ued
  • Furret ued

Latias Deck

  • Ludicolo non holo

Break Starter pack

  • Diglett (it took me almost a year to find one at a decent price (<10e) now it’s hard to find one under 50e)

Regarding Pt ued cards, I’m not quite sure but it’s likely that ued version are rarest compared to 1st editions

I should also mention vending ued (non glossy) cards which belongs to the quick starter box but I think they are quite easy to find still

And of course the binder! Enjoy!

A beautiful collection and a beautiful profile photo! The pfp makes me also ask do you have any non-pokemon art from Komiya? I would love to get a framed non-pokemon poster from him, can’t even dream of an original painting

I indeed own 2 painting from him. I was very lucky to get them. I also have one that I painted myself and also the celebi from the card that I tried to reproduce. I could share some picture tomorrow

Great to see you made a collection thread!

It’s funny you should mention the difficulty of obtaining some of the cards as the ones I like the most typically are in those categories!
The L series mirrors, E1’s and WCP’s are all such niche and rare sets. Love to see them in other collections, congrats!

Nice collection! Komiya is one of my favorite artist too because of how much the art easily stands out.

Thanks for sharing! I hope to own a piece of his art one day as well.

Awesome collection as komiya is the best of the best

Since you made a collection thread for it, and if I may so officious for a moment in saying so, perhaps you might commemorate this thread by uploading those divine pictures to the thread itself for everyone’s viewing pleasure?

A+ collection!

EDIT: I managed to find how to

hi, yeah well I see there is an “image gallery” button but I don’t know how to use it. And posting all the binder at once result only in a randomly sorted binder  + for unknown reason upload of some picture is leading to upload error :frowning:

Phenomenal showcase. Komiya is a very interesting artist and a favorite one for most given how different the art style is. The binder pages look gorgeous and it takes a lot of time and effort to be able to curate these binders. Really great job and kudos to you. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers!
