Yeah absolutely. It´s scarcity vs demand. Scarcity can create demand though, epsecially if it´s a set with some good cards to it.
It´s a very odd choice, but I like to add some discussion ; ) And, while odd, I do believe in it.
Can´t post something like this on Reddit because then I get downvoted into crying because I didn´t mention Evolving Skies or 151. But, there are other sets in the shadows (even Burning sometimes), and they might take off. With investing, sometimes it is better not to follow the herd but look at what might be spotted later (do your research obviously).

It wouldnt be that youre following a “herd” though, Evolving Skies is the most viable, logical and reasonable answer. No is trying to give you bad advice. Its just that people are trying to answer your question as honestly and as reasonably as possible to help you out. Sure there are sets that have good growth potential as well. Evolving Skies is just as good as an answer as any other sets mentioned if not better. Thats why I mention it. To give as honest of an answer I possibly can. Invest in what you believe will have the most growth potential and Im sure it will be a good choice. I just think ES is a great candidate and it would be dumb not to mention it.

It was never about helping me out ; ) It´s just a fun discussion. And you´re right, going for Evolving Skies is not following the herd per se. It can be though.
I think popularity will be the primary reasoning behind something being caught after in 10-15 years, So Evolving + 151 seem like the best guesses IMO.

You´re right man, they probably will be. I´m naming outsiders ; ) Speaking about hype sets, Surging Sparks might be up there.

Surging Sparks is going to be really interesting to watch. I love the set and think it has a lot to offer for everyone, but with partner sets, Prismatic Evolutions, the Rocket set, and most likely ZA sets returning to megas I wonder if its going to be overshadowed by all that.

Yeah, it´s a bit early to tell, but Surging Sparks has a lot of quality. The Latios & Latias cards are beautiful and are always popular (Team Up). And then there´s the Pikachu´s. I think the focus will very soon be all on Scarlet & Violet. Sword & Shield had some very good sets (as mentioned here), but the hype surrounding this set before release is something new.
