Looks like minor bot fixes with the last substantial change coming in 2016 just saying a TCG leader should verify distribution. In any case, I’m not trying to gate keep PCL. I own a copy. It being on the list helps me, it doesn’t hurt me. I just don’t know if it’s a pop 1,000 or less card based on the amount I’ve seen in the past year pop up and sell. The Bebe’s search only pops up around once every quarter year. And again, I don’t think PSA pop reports mean much. Of those 10, I owned 3 of them and sold one of the PSA10s. I’m more confident of Bebe’s search being under 1,000. You guys will have to research PCL more if you decide you want to add it.
The only way we’d be able to find that out is if Pokémon exposed their rankings for the four seasons the card was available from. Nowadays the ranks are hosted online (event.pokemon-card.com/rankings), but back in 2003 that certainly wasn’t publicly-accessible if it was online at all.
I would guess that somewhere around 6,000 to 10,000 of the Mew card were distributed, but honestly that number could easily be half or double that.
Whilst I’m here I can say that I’m very happy to have finally picked up a Chosen Entry Prize Illusion’s Zorua from the 2010 Design Contest. What’s interesting is that despite 660 of those being officially distributed they appear far less often than the 100-copy winner cards.
Also these packs seem to be weighable so I’d be weary buying loose packs. It seems they come in a sealed bundle of 20. On the Taiwanese shopping sites I have found it for ~500 USD so much cheaper than what eBay is asking. Anyways posting here if anyone has any information on the release size, but I read on these forums it could be 1/150. Though they could had only made 150,000 packs too and both statements are true.
My favorite promos come from the L-P series but I can’t seem to find any information on the tournaments. Specifically, I’m interested in learning about the Pokemon Card Game LEGEND Battle. I’ve been getting creative with my searches on google.jp but no luck. Has anyone had success or have a resource for tournament information?
In short, I’m after a distribution number. Cards like Victory Ring or even the Victory Medal give information when and where the tournaments where held and give an idea of how many cards were given out. I don’t expect to find an exact number like the Victory Ring where the tournament was prestigious and thus completely mapped out.
The most I could extract from the LEGEND Battle tournament was that it was held in September 2009.
Pikachu vmax 054/s-p can only be obtained by winning sealed deck lgs tournaments.
Multiple youtubers & stores said that below 300 cards exist confirmed by Indonesian official Pokemon distributor AKG. Very difficult and almost impossible to obtain right now.
By my observation, currently below 150 cards moves in the market in the past month & most aren’t in mint conditions since the stores didn’t sleeve the cards. I saw a few cards sold in Mercari Japan for more than 100.000yen.
Thank you for such a great resource! I have some questions, hope some of you experts can answer.
I understand that the list of cards 1k+ is not comprehensive, but being listed here the Masaki set makes me think that a card which has a distribution around 30k is considerably rare, is it correct? Now, I’m back to the hobby since not long, and I quickly learned that prices nowadays don’t capture limitedness of the card, but I wonder how much the circulation of a normal set was. In other words, what’s distribution of a normal Skyridge holo, for example? Let’s not consider the actual rarity due to destroyed and lost copies. I’m interested up to Wotc.
I found some interesting information in the topic “Relative scarcity of sets” but if correctly understand the rules it’s forbidden to up such an old thread.
