Mario Pikachu

Hey everyone, I got into the hobby a few months ago and absolutely love the Mario Pikachu. I was wondering how well the Mario Pikachu graded out of the box. The full art has 574 10’s & 80 9’s. The non-full art has 534 10’s and 39 9’s. I was wondering if that was just selection bias or if they did just grade really well out of the box. I was thinking about picking one up myself.

Thanks in advance!

I think the data you presented answers your question. This card is too popular for someone to not grade their copy because they only think it is a 9.

Auctions on PWCC ending in the next day or two on these, so will be interesting to see if the price stabilieses or falls

I also noticed that the other day. Mine is off at PSA and right now there is a huge backlog of these cards. I wonder if the values will drop due to overload of these slabs?

Considering these were 500$+ a box a year ago and especially if you compare them with other “god tier popularity” cards like Ancient Mew, Red’s Pikachu etc, these are very much on the scarcer side still. If you think about what’s likely in the backlog, think what was easily accessable 1 year ago and very popular at the same time. Then think which slabs got paid absurd prices for while the raw cards were readily available. Both are anything but Mario Pikachus imo.
