For those who watched his stream of opening every pack, here’s the update where he’s graded the hits at PSA. Pretty enjoyable to watch!
He got a NM-MT+ 10?!?!
Damn what an error
THIS is a pack rack that I’ll watch. Very interesting thought… also glad I don’t have to spend the money. ![]()
His lack of knowledge on the grading and values is annoying me tho, BUT I’m sure there would be some that I’d have no idea of the grade difficulty. meh. haha. Back to my walkabout…
Rough. At the same time, “this doesn’t include the commons.” Maybe he pulled some Psyducks, I forget.
This is a pretty accurate experience of pulling cards from vintage packs lol
Might be off topic, but who is this guy? Im not well versed with influencers, but Ive seen alot of these types of videos pop up.
Me whenever I see a guy under 30 on the internet.
$30,000+ in packs, pretty cool to see. Is there some kind of tax avoidance strategy where ripping packs becomes a business tax write off/loss? Lots of streamers now where they never look for deals or weigh packs, just throw out top of market prices and then fail on pulls consistently.
Im not sure about his age, but I know with pokemon as popular as it is tons of new influencers pop up. The video was pretty neat though. Wish I could experience opening cards from my childhood.
I didn’t know until right now either. He’s 30.
you can write it off but idk how much of a strategy it is when the loss is so great ![]()
he would have to generate revenue from the utubes > the loss from opening the packs i guess ![]()
He’s a very large YouTuber and Streamer. He was one of the big streamers during the COVID boom who opened up and graded Pokemon cards. He regularly plays Pokemon nuzlockes. Definitely a fan of the franchise, just not as nerdy and into the weeds as e4 members.
Ludwig recently traveled across Japan without a map on a motorcycle with Michael Reeves, and it’s really, really enjoyable to watch if you’re into that kind of travel/challenge vlog.
I highly doubt it. You’d get some really odd looks from the IRS. That said, Ludwig is very wealthy because of his success on Twitch and YouTube. He has burned millions on his own businesses and has probably made more than $30k from the stream donations and views alone, so I think he’ll be okay.
Result was as i expected, another random youtuber got SMOKED thinking they will do well opening vintage and surprised they dont get 10’s.
I cant stand these type of videos/people, screaming into the mic for no reason, adhd cuts. yuck.
Side note was cool to see all those ex era and skyridge hits. those will never not be cool to me
I’m sure he was genuinely annoyed by the results, but it’s obvious that he’s intentionally exaggerating his reactions for dramatic effect. As most streamers do. It’s not appealing to me either but I recognize it for what it is. I will always prefer the more “boring” honest reaction videos, but it’s still nice to see these cards.
He’s done this exact thing before and knew what the outcome would be. As squirtle1000 mentioned, the exaggerated reactions are to be funny and make fun of the subjectivity of grading. Gotta stimulate the brains of the streamer audiences one way or another.
Agreed - I really enjoy seeing vintage packs opened and cards from that era graded, regardless of the person doing it. Pulling the Dark Dragonite from the single Team Rocket 1st Ed pack was awesome to see live.
Idk I felt a familiar type of way when I sent out my first large set of vintage cards to get graded ![]()
The lack of brain cells in that thumbnail makes my brain hurt, but I do remember watching something pokemon related with him and having him be fairly knowledgeable in the basics so I’m guessing he either knows that the thumbnail is dumb and about graded packs being light or maybe he doesn’t idk
It’s the kind of video where you ff to the punchline, in this case the 12 seconds towards the end where he’s showing the four 10’s and the most valuable™, and then click stop before the segue into a blasé vignette about pack gambling.
