Logan Paul On Pokemon ... Shows Box

I also get the feeling that mike and George (the other co-hosts) might’ve been trying to rip into Logan a bit more than they normally would’ve for the video because they weren’t sure how the audience would take it?
When you met Mike was he pretty interested in Pokémon or not at all Gary?

I bet that’s the case. They probably wanted someone who the audience could relate to for the people who don’t understand or can’t fathom spending even $100 on a children’s card game.

Mike and I mainly talked about his 10 year battle with addiction.

Ah, so he talked about his book.

Running theme in the podcast is Mike pushes his book 3-4 times a show. I’ve watched a few. Mainly starting when the interviewed Jordan Belfort. It’s like Joe Rogan except Logan/Mike are younger & less experienced. Podcasts have caught on the last couple years and I’ve been surprised with how many are actually out there.

Totally agree with you. Not sure where it comes from that this is the rarest box. Most valuable, yes for sure, no doubt, but rarest its not. I know of more base 1st boxes than I do of for instance Red logo Fossil, Deoxys and Call of Legends.

Agree, I am very surprised to hear that anyone owns more than one or two boxes except Gary? In other languages yes, but not in English. And totally I would be surprised to see more than 150-250 1st eds.

When you use the term «multiple» you make it sound common. I guess the right term should be one, a few or almost a handfull or something to that degree?

His video is out. Its a really fucking good video so far for the hobby.

“Bro, you just paid $25k and you can sell it for $40k by Christmas no problem.” - collectiblesguru who just sold it for 25k instead of waiting 3 months to sell it for 40k like he predicts. What a jackass

Uses fake 1st ed Base Zard. It was well produced. Will be hard to see many, if anyone from E4 buy in at the $400,000 valuation. Will likely be celebrities, etc. Would be fun to watch Aoki buy a pack & see his pulls, etc.

Honestly, the bro attitude, rolexes, fancy cars, dollar sign eyes and overall arrogant persona doesn’t really bother me. People can be whatever they want to be. Idgaf.

The reason I can’t stand him was from when he came into E4 the other day and just started bashing collectors. He doesn’t realize there would be no investment potential if collectors hadn’t created the market over the past 10 years. Besides that fact, just being shitty to other people for no reason means you are a shitty person.

Sometimes it still blows my mind how big this hobby has become. He mentions the “pokecloset” in his podcast, and yeah that’s pretty accurate. I’ve gotten quite a bit of shit from friends and especially family for being a pokemon fan in middle-high school during gens 4-6… my heart goes out to all the adults at the time who stuck through haha.

That was a sick video, looking forward to the stream!

Also tfw his 2 week old collection is more impressive than my 2 decade old one.

Agreed. I feel like heavy 1st edition packs are going for $10-$12k so buying in at this price point is super risky. In any case, I’ll be watching the video and look forward to seeing what he pulls.

Couldn’t agree more with the sentiment. Someone who knows better than to make comments like that but “acts dumb” to help themselves = despicable.

Logan Paul’s Pokemon interest in Pokemon and his video on the other hand… I am actually finding myself a fan of it! I’m pinching myself that something like this could be so mainstream. Even if it’s also somehow a little cringey…

He bashed collectors? What did he say?

He was banned and his posts deleted. No need to repeat the vitriol, but basically just gave us shit for being genuinely interested in collecting kid’s game cards instead of purely for the money like him.

That was what stood out to me the most in this video; The amount of cards he has amassed in a short amount of time. If I had his kind of money, I would imagine this is how my collection would’ve kicked-off.
