Yeah. Didn’t expect a 10 for centering but through it in anyway. In person reviews is 25.00 so not too bad. Now if they upgrade it, they charge 100.00.
Do you think this video will depreciate the value of PSA 10 1st edition Base Set Charizards? It seems like now all those Charizards are BGS 9.5’s at best.
Another great video here with some really cool and interesting content. Additionally, I too have so many questions after watching, as I just feel its such a pull between grading becket or grading psa that this made my head really spin. I just sent out 3 hidden fates zards to PSA through Ludkins (2 were appraised at a possible 10 while the other I know for sure will hit 9 for off centering) but it makes me wonder if maybe I should have chased that black label after all with those if standards in grading are seemingly changing with Becket and Psa as a whole. Most of my cards I purchased were psa cards (mostly 9s, because to me thats perfect) and most are WOTC era, but for newer things, maybe that shift might be heading in that direction? Im not sure, but overall, I just wonder if those newer cards i have graded sported a higher Becket grade that over time they will hold more value due to that, giving modern a shot at being more collectable to others beyond it being over printed. Meaning, if grades at Becket are stricter, the challenge would be worth the chase due to it being hard to obtain said grades which would drive individual grades of cards up respectively if that trend continued. Again, its all fascinating to me and the deeper I go into everything I just begin to question these aspects as PSA has been a huge standard for so long for so many collectors that im curious if we’ll see switch down the road and curious if I should have maybe considered Becket to begin with. (Or maybe im overthinking things, which is a classic thing for me to do )
Again, great video though and im beginning to love Leonharts content a ton!
I’d prefer PSA long term because it is the standard. Heck, I made it the standard lol. Appx 97% of graded Pokémon cards are PSA. Hence only 3% are Beckett, That said I’d rather have a BGS 10 than a PSA 10. Id rather have a PSA 10 than a BGS 9.5.
Does that make sense?
@garyis2000, absolutely it does! And the primary reason for going with PSA for me is exactly that: Pokemon has such a stronghold with them over BGS in regard to graded amount, so that majority will continue and most likely have better market stability in the long term (at least thats what I would make of it). My main reason though was just thinking about getting that Black Label grade for those Hidden Fates zards (which are easily becoming my new favorite Charizard haha) but having the 10 PSA grade to me is also just as good. It just tends to get a little faded and confusing when you do get to those higher grades (PSA 10s, BGS 9.5, BGS 10, BGS 10 Black Label) because each could vary in price so vastly that its sometimes hard to make the call as to what do you go for in order to protect and sustain the value as best as possible, and that new black label being introduced i feel is a great addition to BGS’s grading system, but it helped cause that confusion for me as well.
Regardless though, Ill definitely be sticking to PSA myself for now (minus a few random BGS 9 cards i picked up because they were quite cheap )
