Did we ever find any more examples of these unlimited cards, or at least a more well based reference point or seller? Just curious, because I’ve been on the lookout for an UED Magikarp or Gyarados
I am missing 29 of thr unlimited cards to complete the set ![]()
i managed to find an unlimited korean charmender and charmeleon, but it’s impossible to find the charizard howeever much i try to look… the closest thing is sealed pack… but im not taking my chances with the price
Charmander and Charmeleon are “easy” because they came in the korean 2 player starter set. All cards contained aside from the Machamp are Korea unlimited.
Hey all. I know this post is years old. But yall also know how hard base set korean cards are to find. I am collecting every Vulpix in that original art that was ever made. I have all except the Korean Unlimited Vulpix. It was in the Brushfire theme deck so i know its out there. If anyone at all can help me or point me in the right direction please let me know. My Quest is so close to completion!
I have the same thing with Caterpie, l have over 250 unique Caterpie’s and i miss only that 1999 Korean base set unlimited, searching for almost 7 years now, but the hunt will go on!!! Goodluck with yours @prophetzanzabar if i see the vulpix i will give you a message

Dear all, this is my first post in E4 ![]()
I’d like to contribute with my recent acquisition.
I’m a Porygon collector from Italy, for the base set card I’ve decided to build a “global set” with all variants and languages and I was missing only the infamous Korean Unlimited.
Few days ago I found one from an Italian collector, He had purchased it with many other unlimited base set cards (some holos included) from another collector that was travelling a lot in Japan. It told them that he opened a booster box, and this is an interesting info…
Find here some photos of card and also some comparison with 1st Ed Korean and Unlimited English. Feel free to ask more photos if you want.
The 1st Edition Korean card is already a little bit more glossy than a classic WOTC base set card but the unlimited version is way more glossy than that, this also was confirmed by @thundermoo video that I’ve recently watched. If someone has some of this card have you felt the same?
Quick recap of what we know since now:
- These cards were not available in Korea but only in Australia.
- We saw packs but personally I never saw a booster box.
- They are more glossy the regular cards (?)
- It’s the rarest base set variant.
Korean unlimited base set is fascinating! Thanks for sharing
Welcome @Kratosso! Super cool collection, I saw your post on the Russian & Polish thread as well. Incredible stuff, glad to see you on e4. And can’t wait to see your collection grow
Thank you for sharing!!!
Nice collection! There are some new variants being investigated that have never been recognized. You need to rip a pack, or find them raw using a loupe/zoomed in view of the ink to determine them. They are USA print runs of foreign language cards.
Based off of packs, I believe you can only find the variants in Unlimited German, Italian, French, and Portuguese.
Too hard for me, I used to open packs when they came out in 00’, now it’s too late for mu wallet ![]()
BTW, do you have any example to share?
Using the patterns of the print plates you can pretty much determine whether a card is USA or Belgium origins is what i believe he is saying. Takes some knowledge but you can do it lol
Sadly idk if ill ever be able to distinguish a korean vs chinese energy
I don’t know the specifics, but a fellow Korean collector I chat with managed to crack that one with the energies… something about font thickness and spacing between words.
He never expalined it to me fully, probably so I couldnt ruin his POP 1’s haha. But his findings were accurate enough to convince CGC to label them with the respective languages. (Not sure how much that means these days…)
Hope that helps you figure it out !
I will be researching that in depth lol
Thank you for confirming the Korean Base Set UED Dewgong exists. I’m trying to master set Dewgong and was beginning to think it didn’t exist.
If anyone has any leads on where to find one. I’m in the market! So far have looked around eBay to include eBay Australia. I understand they may have only been released there.
@packyman found it
