Favorite pull was a Mega Charizard Y from Flashfire from my first pack in 10 years lol. My dumbass sold the card though :slightly_frowning_face:

Wow Thanks for the giveaway! love your booster cases btw

My favorite pull story
So It was the friday release of Unified Minds I believe. I just got back into pokemon during team up so I’m fairly unfamiliar with new sets and the pull rates and all. I decide that I’m just going to get a few boosters from my local GameStop. So I pull up to GameStop with my gf. she tells me not to clear out the store and I agreed. so I walk in and there is like only 10 boosters left and I decided to buy all of them because I’m an addict to booster pack openings( please help ). I go back to the car and tell my gf what has transpired and she gives me this face of disapproval but she still forgives me because shes amazing and all and we just move on and go home. I get home and decide to open the packs with my gf watching. I open the packs and i pulled a few GXs and a full art mawile I think. but the very last pack I open and out comes the rainbow rare mewtwo and mew tag team!!! and we go bonkers and flail our arms around going “wooooo!!” the end. moral of the story leave no booster pack behind.

I pulled a gold star torchic which i sold a few years later for 50 bucks to a guy in australia a decade ago. Still haven’t gotten over it. i was really poor and needed - NEEDED - the money but i’ll always regret selling that card. then again, you can’t eat a card, and it kept me fed for about a week on starvation rations.
those were dark times.

Best experience: I found a first gen neo lugia in my childhood collection.

Thanks for the generous giveaway Kanto Shark!

Mine has to be a tie between:

  1. Going to the store when I was younger (6 or 7) and buying my first packs from target. I think I bought four or five packs all from the HGSS era and in my first pack I pulled a gengar prime! Its still one of my favourite cards to this day.

  2. Earlier this year opening my first WoTC pack which was a 1st edition jungle pack. I had weighed it before hand and it was right in that grey area of possibly containing a holo but also being light. I had gotten it for such a good price that I decided to have some fun and open it. I ended up pulling not only a mint Pikachu, but also a Victreebel holo!

Difficult question but something that I still remember to this day is when I pulled my first ex card from a booster pack. It was a Raichu ex from Ex Emerald. It was the first time I had seen an ex card in person and I thought it was so cool! I’ve been thinking about getting one of those graded as an honor for the memory, as I unfortunately don’t own the Raichu anymore. I wish I did.

I’m in Kanto Shark! My best experience opening a pack has to go to my nostalgia trip episode, recounted in detail in my collection thread (link in signature), the very first post. Check it out for the full story, but if not, here’s a summary right here!

The summary is, a friend and I opened a base box together about 8 years ago, put aside one pack to never be opened again, opened the other 35, and picked up the last pack (Zard art), the 35th and last unopened one, and ripped it open. I had no expectations, and it was base Charizard. Just the fact that it was so unbelievable, even though it isn’t my favorite of the set, was still too spectacular to not look back as the most fond memory of a pack opening experience!

Thanks for the giveaway! Congrats in advance to the winner (as always, let’s hope I’m congratulating myself here).

As for my favorite pull from a single pack, that is a difficult one, hmm. I did have some amazing pulls as a kid, like Crystal Kingdra or Neo Destiny Shining Magikarp. But since I barely knew anything about rare cards back then, they were just cool because it was crystal and golden, and not too noteworthy in comparison to other Holofoil Rares.

The more memorable pulls I did after I returned collecting in 2015. One was from a Korean CP6 (XY Evolutions) booster box. I had primarily bought the box to just pull a non-holo Common Pikachu for my collection. I bought the entire box, because Korean boxes are very cheap (~15-25 USD for 150 cards), and it’s fun to open up packs. I knew the chances of pulling the other Pikachu in the set, the Secret Rare Pikachu EX full art (which is a Secret Rare in Japanese/Korean, but Ultra Rare in other languages), was very small. I figured I’d just try to buy it as a single later on. So I was very pleasantly surprised and happy when the only Secret Rare pull from the box was the Pikachu EX card I wanted.

But the most noteworthy booster box opening I did was the Chinese EX Legend Maker box. I will just quote what I wrote when I opened it and shared it in my collection thread:

And here the BGS grades for anyone wondering:

Thank you Kanto Shark.

Only collected pokemon stickers when I was a kid and I’m really glad to start collecting this year tcg cards.

Hidden Fates and Evolutions is really fun to open. Was so happy to pull a Mewtwo Gx from Hidden Fates. Hope to get the Articuno in future ones.

Have fun everybody on your future pulls!

The first Charizard I ever pulled came from a Base set 2 pack. Such a rush, and I traded that Charizard (and some other holos) for a card I wanted even more, the Base version.

thanks for the giveaway!

Not much of a pack opener, but I do recall reentering the hobby from a break in 2016, and pulling a shaymin ex from Roaring skies, which was a very pricey card due to its play-ability and being able to gain some capital by selling it to buy other cool cards

I remember being out of Pokemon for a little bit and my friend and I went to a card shop and they had old base set packs (this was only a few years after the base set release though) and I was like I’ll just buy one pack for fun. Got back to his place, opened it and it was the big CHARIZraD!!! we screamed and then went into full on dance mode and just destroyed his living room and threw pillows everywhere lol I don’t remember what I ever did with it after that I think it was more just the fun of pulling it that night. Ah good times. Thanks for the giveaway this was fun to share

Thank you for the giveaway! In recent times I really enjoyed opening Evolutions. It gave me the nostalgia of the past and it was fun pulling the old school reprint like Charizard, Chansey, Mewtwo etc.

Thanks for doing this!

When I was little, I opened a pack of Skyridge (I think a blister pack) and saw something about crystal pokemon in the pack description on the box. I was super excited when I pulled a reverse holo gyarados thinking it was a crystal because of the blue color and the fact that I had never seen that rarity before. It wasn’t until nearly a decade later that I realized I was mistaken.

Must be the Team Magma & Aqua Theme Decks I opened when I was a little kid.

They’re not expensive at all but back in the days because I was playing the Sapphire game Groudon & Kyogre really made a lasting impression on me. Even now they’re in my top favourites.

I still have those cards in decent condition today.

Went to the convenience store with my dad as a kid, and he bought me my first pack because I loved Pokemon. Got home and pulled this holo. I was so excited, I can remember so vividly it’s like it just happened.

Thank you for the giveaway

I dont remember my own pulls very well from when I was younger, I achieved most of mine from trading. My most memorable experience would be watching my best friend at the time pulling a dark charizard 1st edition from a booster we bought at the local fair. It was the first time I saw a Team rocket booster and this sticks in my memory

Thanks again for the giveaway, Kanto Shark. I’m sure the community very much appreciates it! Regarding the giveaway, my most memorable experience of opening a Pokémon pack would have to be from when I was a child opening one of my first ever Pokémon packs (fossil) with my brother, we ended up pulling a holographic MOLTRES! Oh man, I was so happy, everyone likes to talk about their experience pulling base set Charizard, but Moltres WAS MY CHARIZARD as a child! We went CRAZY! I still have that same Moltres to this day (I LOVE THAT HOLOGRAPHIC STYLE), albeit it wasn’t taken care of well of course, but that doesn’t matter anyway.

This memory is even more special to me because my brother and I rarely ever got along growing up, even to this day we never contact each other, so it was valuable to even have that memory with my brother. I wish I had more happy memories spending time with him, but I’m glad we could bond over something like that.

Anyway, thanks for reading! I’m honestly getting kind of emotional while typing this. Be nice to your love ones, you only have one family!

Don’t remember a lot of openings from when I was a kid, so my most memorable would probably be my fiancé buying me a random Burning Shadows pack and pulling a Charizard GX (not the rainbow). This is why I got back into the hobby after not opening a pack in about 15 years. If I didn’t pull a Charizard, I probably wouldn’t be here.

I didn’t get to open packs as a kid so the first pack I bought for myself is my favorite. I can’t even remember what my rare was but I finally got to open a pack,

Surprisingly enough, my favorite pull was from Champions Path. In all my years of collecting and opening packs, I just got really unlucky and only ever pulled Holos and never anything better. Anyways, my sister and I sat down to open our first champions path booster. Joking around about pulling either of the charizards. And what do you know! Our very first pack was a rainbow VMAX Charizard. Say what you want about the set and all that jazz, but this card will always hold a special place in my heart for being the first “special” card I ever pulled myself. Now all this being said, the other 35 or so boosters I’ve opened of this set have been my usual luck of barely a Holo but that first pack still holds a lot of happiness within me.
