Recently I’ve been trying to complete 1st edition jungle holos in PSA 9 and 10. I’ve noticed that it seems as though PSA is super lenient on the silvering that occurs along the edges on the front of jungle cards. Does anyone have any insight into this? Is it just me or are mostly all PSA 9’s and even some 10’s going to come with some silvering?
Nope not just you it’s a known jungle issue and PSA seems to be lenient on allowing it especially in Jungle (although other sets have it too)
My personal experience is similar. It seems PSA is very tolerable for silvering. I’ve seen plenty of Jungle 10s and 9s with it. Personally I think it’s very unappealing and I would opt for a copy without silvering if possible.
True. I see it on fossil and base at times but not near as much. I’m just getting around to jungle and man I feel like I’m wasting money buying 10’s because it’s so bad even on a lot of the 10’s I buy.
I started with 9’s and the silvering was pretty bad on a few of them, so I started buying 10’s. And now that I’ve been buying 10’s and see how bad the silvering still is I almost wish I’d just stuck with 9’s.

what I’m wondering is if even pack fresh or non played PSA 10s silver like this and it’s not from actual wear, will these cards continue to decline in condition? Like even in a PSA case?
The silvering is from dull blades cutting the sheets during production, the cards won’t decline in condition in a PSA case

Silvering by itself won’t turn a 10 into a 9 or a 9 into an 8. It can affect borderline calls though so if it’s a possible 9/10, it could cause it to get the 9.
Not related to you or others on our site but it seems those who snivel when they get a 10 with silvering are often the same ones who won’t pay a premium for one without it;) I keep my clean edgers but anytime I offer one for a premium they always pass. They want them cheaper too lol.

I also get the “pack fresh PSA 8s” but won’t pay a premium over normal 8 prices lol
I actually have a Scyther and snorlax in 10’s that do not have silvering that I did pay a premium on. They aren’t first edition though, they’re no symbols. All my 10’s in 1st edition jungle do have silvering. What kind of premium do you usually charge?
I rarely sell that stuff but it would depend on what it was.
What do you pay for no symbols?
so far I’ve been paying between 225 and 280. The Scyther was on the cheaper end.
