I donāt frequently look for unlimited because you need to do so for weeks-months on end. Some species collectors have looked for year(s). Itās harder to find that 1st symbol due to the rev foil but it does seem Jp sellers are more aware of unlimited, usually prices reflect that.

Appreciate it! Itās a hard one to come by and I was actually drawn to the forum because I read @GymLeaderTaylorās L2 Unlimited journey. Was super cool to read through and I thought others would have a similar journey on here, which they do as I found this thread!

Ya Iāve been on the hunt for just a bit now but made some connects on eBay and theyāre keeping there eyes open as well. Believe it or not I found a handful of the 1st Ed. Rev Foils on Buyee so I have one of those coming in but no luck on the unlimited so far, well in the holo anyways. Only one I can find on the net so far is a PSA 10 for $4k

I recommend searching the same sources you are, but make sure you arenāt limiting your search term.
Search just Scyther. Donāt limit it to Scyther L2 or Scyther card number/set number.
I have had luck in the past finding the cards I need in a small lot or not having L2 labeled in the title.
Just keep checking mercari japan.
I can find an unlimited L2 or 3 card now and then and I try to pick them up. If they are under $20 or so.
Iām still looking for some specific ones myself.
I remember when I first started I had a whole pile of them but that was back when only reverse primes were worth anything

Oh thatās how I started because of the translation on certain words, I just searched scyther probably went though 200 pages the other night. Now I have alerts of anything new gets added for just that single word. 
Definitely found a few so far just no luck with my last one, I guess thatās the hunt though!
Itās the only way to go - strain your eyes staring at the lower left corner of every card.
Do you have the UED non-holo Scyther from the Steelix deck?

I had typhlosion collector buy me the steelix on buyee, where the ebay dropship listing originated from. Was much cheaper.
I also have a ued reverse holo Rapidash and a potential ued reverse celebi coming in.
Iām picking off the more expensive and reverse holos slowly but surely.
Iām about 70% into the HGSS master set

I wish - I have 70% of a complete UED HGSS master set. I have around 46% of the L2 RH and 34% of L3.
My master set is a complete set of the lottery legends cards, the 3 L1 starters, L2 and L3 non-holo, holo, reverse holo, and additional set of Legends cards, and all cards from the Steelix and Tyranitar starter decks.
I have 2 RH primes - Electrode and now Steelix.
I would love to find a sealed set of Steelix and Tyrantiar decks and maybe a booster pack of L2 and L3.

Thats a very cool /challenging collection goal I hope you complete it. Starting a group for this on facebook marketplace can also get you some more information youre looking for. Wouldnt really trust facebook marketplace to buy but its a good place to expand your search. If there isnt already a group for this. Goodluck!
