I have this Mew gold star, dont know much about it.
Just bought it from a seller (those that have stalls and many many albums) in 2010 at Mirabilandia Park in italy for Pokémon day for the Arceus film, so now that im getting interested in collecting pokemon cards i just wanna know if its fake or not.
Thank u in advance :+1:

Yes, this is a real Mew :goldstar:.

On a real copy:

  • The star (:goldstar:) should have the iridescent foil
  • Mew’s body should have the iridescent foil
  • The borders of the “You can’t have more than 1 Pokemon :goldstar: in your deck” text box should have the iridescent foil around it
  • The borders of the textbox should have the iridescent foil around it
  • You should see a foil layer between the delta species insignia and the hit points (see second image), and around the border of the art box

Getting the iridescent foil around the non-art box (non-Mew) portions of the card is extremely difficult for forgeries.

This is what fakes and proxies look like:

Regarding price, your copy is pretty badly damaged. I would expect $250-$400 USD.

Someone offered me 180€ (188$), should i accept it?

I think you could get more, but I also don’t know what the market looks like in Italy. The decision is ultimately up to you.

It may be your rarest card for some time. Personally, I would keep it.

Sorry if im bothering u so much, honestly in your opinion should i grade it (with psa)?

Not a problem at all!

I think the card would get a PSA 1, so grading it would only be beneficial for the increased confidence in its authenticity and to protect it from further damage. If you like the look of graded cards, then you could grade it for aesthetic reasons.

Personally, I think that it would look great in a binder.
