Gold star charizard real or fake

Hello I’m going to be meeting someone later today 12/15 to try to get this card. How can I be 100% sure it’s real. Any advise is greatly appreciated!

The fonts seem off to me

It is fake, the easiest giveaway on the common fake gold stars is the Skinny 90 HP

Here is a link to a real one

Very fake. Border is too big, set numbering is the wrong font, HP is off as @Silphnaut mentioned, attack text has differing font sizes and spacing.

OP, if you actually want to buy this, request that the seller go through PSA and get the “authentic” label. Have them confirm or deny; but as others have said, this look off.

That is good advice the skinny 90 HP font is a very common tell on fake Gold Stars.
Comparing it side by side with a confirmed real example is the safest way to be sure.

Faker than Pamela Andersons tits.

Just one more thing to look out for, these fakes are usually way too dark on the back. Vintage and modern backs are a bit different and the fakes imitate the modern cards :folded_hands:

I’ll take the opportunity to continue the thread a bit. Which collections do you think are the most commonly faked? On aliexpress there’s a lot of Base Set, Fossil, Jungle, Neo, and also top modern cards…

Base set fakes (especially Charizord) seem particularly plentiful. Then probably Gold Stars, Neo Shinings and XY promos/mega

I made a little article here, If it could be useful
